Your recent request to withdraw the bulkheading portion
of the above referenced application has been reviewed by
the Board of Trustees at a regular meeting held on December 26,
1985.
Please be advised that the Board has deemed Wetland
Application No. 330 as withdrawn, and has amended your
previous permit no. 1925 to include the additional .3. spiles
to be added to the existing dock under said permit.
There is a $15. 00 fee for the addition of these three
spiles. Please remit same to this office at your earliest
convenience. If you have any questions, or need additional

residing at Sailor's Needle, Mattituck N. Y., as
part of the consideration for the issuance of the Permit does understand and prescribe to the fol-
lowing: 1 . That the Southold Trustees Permit must be prominently
displayed on the premises effected thereby during the period of '
That the said Board of Trustees and the Town of Southold are released from any and Work

to maintain the structure or project involved, to provide evidence to anyone concerned that auth-
orization was originally obtained.
5. That the work involved will be subject to the inspection and approval of the Board or
I its agents, and non-compliance with the provisions of the originating application, may be cause for
revocation of this Permit by resolution of the said Board.
6. That there will be no unreasonable interference with navigation as a result of the work
herein authorized.

the beach between high and low water marks,
8. That if future operations of the Town of Southold require the removal and/or alterations
in the location of the work herein authorized, or if, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, the

upon due notice, to remove or alter this work'or project herein stated without expenses to the Town
of Southold.

4+ cu.yds. of sand/loam. Remove an existing 50+'x 10' double sheathed solid
fill walk and replace it with open-work walk on pilings. Remove and replace
pilings on s/w wall of outer basin. Remove existing bulkhead on n/w side of
outer basin and build a new bulkhead 45+' long 5±' landward of old. Remove
5 ' of intervening soil to depth 4' below MLW. Dredge outer basin of approx
dimensions 55'x 50' (prop) plus 10'x 5,0' at entrance to basin to 4' below MLW.
Approx 285 cu.yds. of spoil -dill-partially be• used as backfill (if appropriate)
or removed to suitable upland site (Town .Dump) . Install a 4'x 12' hinged ramp
and (2) 6'x 16' floats secured by (2) ;8" diam.x 20 pilings 'in 'dredged outer

of the above referenced application has been reviewed by
the Board of Trustees at a regular meeting held on December 26,
1985.
Please be advised that the Board has deemed Wetland
Application No. 330 as withdrawn, and has amended your
previous permit no. 1925 to include the additional 3. spiles
to be added to the existing dock under said permit.
There is a $15. 00 fee for the addition of these three
spiles. Please remit same to this office at your earliest

Spoke to President Henry P. Smith regarding the three spiles
to be placed adjacent to the existing dock on property located
on Sailors Needle, Mattituck. Henry advised that these spiles
are to be added to the existing permit for the dock. That no
further application is needed, whereas Mr. Newman has withdrawn his
application for the retaining wall.

Application approved with the provision that the floating dock and ramp and
float assembly that abuts the creek., and is not part 'of the boat slip, is
removed, and the mooring removed to the. north of the light house. The
dredged material is to be paid for. Spoil to be trucked to the Town Landfill.
Revocation of mooring permit 1883 mooring 620 in James Creek.
3. If your application is approved above, a Permit Fee is now due, and
should be made payable to the order of the Board of Southold Town
_ Trustees. This fee is computed below according to the Schedule of
Rates as set forth in the Instruction Sheet (Form 1/1) . This fee must
be paid within .90 days or reapplication and additional fee will be
necessary.
If the Permit Fee is paid in person to the Clerk of the Board, the Permit

3/l/85 I spoke to Henry Smith, who advised
that this permit is given with.the stipulation
that only 200 cu. yds. is dredged from the
private boat basin, no dredging is to be done
in James Creek, that the floating dock and
ramp and- float assembly that abuts the creek
is removed(the one that is not part of the
boat slip) and that the mooring permit. no.
1883 mooring no. 620 is revoked. Spoil
is to be paid for.
This was the understanding made, that the
application could be treated as non-significant
and if the other dredging was to be done, the
applicant would apply for the additional dredging
at a later date.
PLEASE REVIEW IN REGARD TO WETLAND APPLICATION 237.
