We have determined that we have no jurisdiction in this matter as long as all work is done in accordance with the survey submitted and dated February 18, 1983 and approved by the N.Y.S. D.E.C. on December 4, 1986. Should there be any change to this plan, please contact this office. This determination is not a determination for any other department or agency which may have jurisdiction. ROSCOE COREY - Clearview Ave. , Southold. o l6 / - Southold , N , Y . 11971: P . O. Box 1698 October 9 , 1987 Gentlemen , I recently purchased, the lot indicated on the enclosed maps . A portion of it is designated as D. R. C . wetlands . My purpose in writing this letter is to find out what I can do to clear it up so we can get a view of the bay . Most of it is not typical wetland it is more woodland with the usual dense undergrowth of brambles , vines , poison ivy and fallen trees . Specifically what I would bji.ke: to. .-do ;:is, open, up ,a: path, 5 ', to 1 '.: wide along the north side of the lot so we can Walk to the water and just clean up the undergrowth in the woodland portion of the area . I would like to remove some of the less desirable trees that are crowding each otter out . There are some very nice oak , mapla and hickory trees that I would like to see get some light and growing room . What I would like to do would not involve machinery and would have no effect on the wet- lands , in fact it would improve their purpose . I am not entirely ignorant of the problem involved as I have had training in horticulture , including land management at S. U . N . Y . at Farmingdale and have just moved from N.ntucket where I got quite an education in wetland problems through the Nantucket Conservation Foundation of which I am still a member so I am very conservation conscious . I hope that this letter describes what I would like to:, accomplish . I would be glad to.;go . down to the property with the trustees and elaborate further .
