Southold Town Board of Appeals
February 26, 1959
A special meeting of the Southold Town Board'
Appeals was held at the Town Clerk's Office, Southold,
New York, on Thursday, February 26, 1959 at 7:30 P.M.
There were present: Messrs. Robert Bergen, Vice-
Chairman, Charles Gregonis, Jr. , and Serge Doyen, Jr.
Absent: Messrs. Robert W. Gillispie, Jr. , and
Herbert Rosenberg.
Also present: Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector.
Upon motion of Mr. Gregonis, seconded by Mr. Doyen
and unanimously carried it was Resolved that the Board
set time and place for hearing on the application of Mario
Zanghetti, Fishers Island, New York, for a variance in
accordance with the Zoning Ordinance Article III, Section
304, for permit to use lot located off Oriental Avenue,
Fishers Island, New York. Time and place was fixed for
7:30 P.M. (E.S.T. ) March 129 1959 at the Town Clerk's
Office, Southold, New York.
By resolution offered by Mr. Doyen seconded by Mr.
Gregonis and carried, 7:45 P.M. (E.S.T. � March 129 1959
was set for the hearing upon application of Robert Wadd-
ington, Fishers Island, New York, for a variance in

accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article III, Section
304, for permit to use lot located off Oriental Avenue,
Fishers Island, New York.
Upon resolution offered by Mr. Gregonis, seconded by
Mr. Doyen and carried, 8:00 P.M. (E.S.T. ) was the time set
for the hearing of application of Blanche L. H. Weese, Lupton
Point, Mattituck, N.Y. , for a variance in accordance with the
Zoning Ordinance Article III, Section 3039 Article X, Section
1000A and Section 280A, for permit to divide into two single
lots and recognition of access to property located on the
north side Lupton Point Road, Lupton Point, Mattituck, N.Y.
By motion of Mr. Doyen, seconded by Mr. Gregonis, it
was resolved to hear the application of Woodhollow Prop-
erties, Inc. , Jericho Turnpike, Jericho, New York, for a
variance in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance Article III,
Section 300, Subsection 10 for permit to locate subdivision
sign at intersection of Main Road aril Plum Island Lane on the
north side of Main Road, -Route 259 Orient, New York at 8:15 P.M.
(E.S.T. ) on March 12, 1959 at the Town Clerk's Office, Southold,
New York.
Upon resolution offered by Mr. Gregonis, seconded by Mr.
Doyen and carried, it was determined that public hearing is
to be held at 8:30 P.M. (E.S.T. ) on March 12 , 1959 at the
Town Clerk's Office, Southold, N.Y. , on the application of
Walter S. Sage, Greenport, New York, for a special exception
in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article IV, Section
408, Subsection A, for permit to locate sign on the south side
of Route 25 at Arshamomaque near railroad overpass, Green port,
New York.
Upon motion offered by Mr. Doyen, seconded by Mr. Gregonis
and unanimously carried it was resolved that the Board set time
and place for hearing on the application of James McDermott,
for a variance in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance Article
III, Section 303. Location of property, Lot No. 31, Map of
George I. Tuthill Estate, west side Bray Avenue, Mattituck,
New York, (Laurel district 11. )
Legal notice on s11 of the above hearings to be published
in the official newspaper on March 69 1959•
The minutes of February 4, 1959 were read. Upon motion
made by Mr. Gregonis, seconded by Mr. Doyen and unanimously
carried, the minutes were approved as submitted.
Upon motion of Mr. Doyen, seconded by Mr. Gregonis and
carried, the Board resolved that Mr. Howard M. Terry, Building
Inspector be commended for his attendance at the Association of
Towns Annual meeting and Eastern States Building Inspectors Scho3
and excellent preparation of reports submitted upon his return.

Southold is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. , Thursday, March 12, 1959•
