A. regular meeting of the Southold Town Board of Appeals was held at 7:30 P. M-
on Thursday, January 9, 1959, . in.the Town Clerk's Office, Southold, N. Y.
There were present: Mr. R. If. Gillispie, Jr., Chairman
Mr, Robert Bergen
Mr. Herbert Rosenberg
Mr. Charles Gregonis" Jr.
Absent: Mr. Serge_Doyen, Jr.
Also present: Mr. Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector
PUBLIC HEARING: Appeal No. 41 - Application of William H. Beebee of New
Suffolk Lane, Cutchogue, N. Y., for Applicant, Cutchogue Methodist Church Corpora- I�
tion, Cutchogue, N. Y., for a Special Exception under ArticleIII, Section 306 of'. trl
the Ordinance.
Application for.appeal, letter to Mr. Beebee and applicants advising of date
of public hearing and legal notices with affidavits from two local newspapers were
read by the Chairman.
Chairman: "Is there anyone present,_who would like- to speak "for" this appeal?
Mr. Tuthill: "Mr. Price, 1,6r. Garrett and I are representing the Church. We
would like to have this go through so we can build on this addition."
Chairman: "Is there anything further either "for" or "against" this appeal?"
Yx. Garrett: "We would like to have it come through. It is essential to main-
taining the Church and for the necessary office space to carry on the work of the
Church.��
Mr. Price: "As the Church is set so far back from the Fain Road, at least 50
feet, I feel that should be to an advantage in this case."
Board unanimously granted this special exception. Property is located on the
Main Road and Stillwater Avenue, Cutchogue and the addition to the building is to
be put on Stillwater Avenue. It was the feeling of the Board that strict application

of the Ordinance would produce undue hardship as this .is a corner lot and the extension
could only be put on the side of the building end the side road was constructed after
the building was erected and the variance does observe the spirit of the Ordinance
since the structure conforms to all existing rules and regulations.

Road, Beller.ose 26, N. Y., for a variance to Section 280-a Subsection 3. Property:
South Side Rabbit Lane,. East Marion, N. Y.
Appeal, letter to applicant advising of date of public hearing and legal notices
with affidavits from two local newspapers were read by the Chairman.
There being no one present to speak either "for" or "against" this appeal the
Board reviewed appeal and unanimously granted the approval of access as is. It is
the understanding of the Board that Rabbit Lane is not related to any official map
or plan, now or In the future.
Minutes of the December 19th meeting were read. On motion made by Mr. Bergen,
seconded by. T,4r. Rosenberg, and carried, minutes were approved.
The next meeting of the Board will be held on January 23, 1958-
Meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
