A regular meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held at the Town /
Clerkts office in Southold, N. Y., on Thursday, August 1, 1957, at 7:30 P.M.

Also: Mr. H. M. Terry, Building Inspector
Absent: Mr. C. Gregonis and Mr. S. Doyen, Jr.
Mr. Frank Ashby of Green-port returned with a new map, dated July 29th,
and said he .would be interested in the Board' s approval of same. Mr. Ashby
attended the meeting of the board on July llth at which time he showed the
board a map, dated July 8, 1957, of 110ove Parke, Greenport, N. Y. , and at
that time the board advised Mr. Ashby that the map in its present form would
not be acceptable as the lots in question were undersized. Board studied the
new map, dated July 29, 1957, and advised Mr. Ashby that all the lots, with
the exception of 3 lots, would meet the requirements of the Ordinance and as
the 3 undersized lots in ouestion could—not readily be enlarged Mr. Ashby
could apply for a variance on these lots. Variance would have to be applied
for on each separate lot. Mr. Ashby thanked the Board for their interest in
his problem and advised that .he was going ahead and have the lots deeded
back as they were originally. Three or four days before Zoning went into
effect Mr. Ashby had been advised by his lawyer to deed every other lot over
to his wife and this was done.at that time.
Board then reviewed the Building Zone Ordinance and decided to suggest
to the Planning Board, in the form of a letter, their recommendations to
various sections of the Ordinance which they feel will improve the Ordinance
and will eliminate some of the confusion surrounding same.
Minutes of the July 25th meeting were read. On motion made by Mr. Rosenberg
and seconded by Mr. Bergen, and carried, Minutes were approved.
Next meeting to be held on August 8, 1957.
Meeting adjourned at 11:05 P.M.
