BOARD OF SOUTHOLD TOWN TRUSTEES
Meeting of June 3 , 1974
A regular meeting of the Board of Southold Town Trustees was held
at 7 :30 P.M. , Monday,. June 3 , 1974 at the Town Board meeting room,
16 South Street, Greenport, New York, with the following present:
Alvah B. Goldsmith, Chairman
Douglas M. Robertson
Frederick E. Gordon
George Bird
Philip G. Horton (arrived late)

.Also present : Loraine .Terry, Loretta Hess , Evelyn Gordon.
The Board reviewed .applications of Petry, Roth,, Reiter, Hiller,
and Oliver and others which were held over from the May 6th meeting
for investigation..
On motion of Mr. Gordon, seconded by Mr. Robertson,. the following
applications were approved:
RESOLVED that .*Di ck Petry, -193C Cedar Drive,. Mattituck, New York be
granted permission to place an onshore-offshore mooring- in Mattituck
Creek at `the foot of Bayview .Avenue, Mattituck, New York, all in
accordance with the detailed ,specifications, as presented in the
originating application. Fee $5. 00.
RESOLVED that. Alfred .V. Roth, .220 Cindy Lane,,.. Mattituck, New .York be
granted .permission to place an onshore-offshore mooring in Mattituck
Creek at Route 27A, Mattituck, New York, all in accordance with the
detailed specifications' as presented in the originating application.
Fee $5. 00.
RESOLVED that Carl D. Reiter, Southold, New York be granted
permission to dredge no more than 100 cu. yds.. of fill. ,from his
existing boat slip at Mill Creek, off^ Old Main Road, Southold,
New York, and remove said fill from the arEa, all in accordance
with the 'detailed ;specifications as presented in the originating
application. Fee $10:00.
RESOLVED that Raymond Hiller, Bungalow Lane, Mattituck, New York

be granted permission to construct a walkway 3 ft. by 16 ft. , ramp
3 ft. by 10 ft.., and float 5 ft. by 16 ft. with two pilings in front
of his property on Deep Hole Creek,. at Bungalow Lane, Mattituck, New
York, all in accordance with the detailed specifications as presented
in the originating application. Fee $17. 80.
RESOLVED tha t Richard Oliver, 37F Little Neck- Road, Cutchogue;
Ronald Atkinson„ Emory Road, Cutchogue; and Jack Phillips,, Beebe
Drive, Cutchogue, , New York be granted permission to construct a
stationary dock 20 ft. by 6 ft. , with four mooring piles, on the
property of E. Wilson Tuthill, with his permission, ,at the foot of
a right-of-way off -Beebe Drive, Cutchogue, New York, all in accord-
ance with the detailed specifications as presented in the originating
application. Fee $16. 00.

Mr. Bird.
ApplloatiatiNo. 17 for a wetland permit bysReviceDonaldrErr. Beckley,
75 Broadwaters Road, Cutchogue, New..York was received from the Town
Clerk. requesting a recommendation by the Board of Town Trustees.
Rev. Brickley wishes to fill an area 50 ft. by 160 ft. with 525 cu.
yds. of fill at his property at 75 Broadwaters Road, Cutchogue.
The Board will investigate the site.
On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by. Mr. Bird, it was.
RESOLVED that Robert E. Doering, 260 Highwood Road, Southold, New
York be granted permission to place an onshore-offshore mooring
in Goose Creek, ofE Waterview Drive, Southold, all in accordance
with the detailed specifications .as presented in the originating :
application. Fee $5. 00.
Vote of the Board: Ayes : Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Gordon,
Mr. -Bird.
On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Gordon, it was
RESOLVED that Robert W. Gillespie, Oak Avenue, Southold, New York
be granted permission to place a mooring in Goose Creek, #39 on
Goose Bay. Property Owners Assoc. map, in front of his own -.Property
on Oak Avenue, Southold, .New York, all in -.accordance with .the . . , Fee:
detailed specifications as .presented- in the originating application. $5. 00.

On motion of Mr. Gordon, seconded by Mr. .; Bird, it. was
RESOLVED that Alexander Peck, Cedar Drive, Southold, -New York, be
granted permission to place an onshore-offshore mooring in Town
Creek at the foot of Pine Neck Road, Southold, New York, all in
accordance with the detailed specifications as presented in .the
originating application. --Fee $5::00. -

Two applications for Quit Claim deeds were submitted to the Board
by Morton J. Phillips- and Rosalind Phillips; and Thomas B. Reeve
and Helen J. Reeve covering areas in f-ront of their property on
Mattituck Creek which was filled by dredging done by the County of
Suffolk some years ago.
On motion of Mr. Gordon, seconded by .Mr. .Robertson, it was
RESOLVED .that .a -quit claim deed be granted to Morton J. . Phillips
and Rosalind Phillips, his wife, 'Westview Drive, ,. Mattituck, New
York, covering the following described property:
ALL that certain plot, piece or parcel of land, with the
buildings and improvements thereon erected, situate,
lying and being in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk
and State of New York, more particularly bounded and
described as follows :
BEGINNING at a point on the ordinary high water mark
of Mattituck Creek where said high water mark is inter-
sected by the direct extension westerly of the northerly
boundary of ..land...of the party of the second part; .from
said point of beginning running along 'said direct extension,
N.,78°42 '40"E. 12 feet, more or less, to ordinary high water
mark of Mattituck Creek as-. found in .1951; thence southerly -
along 'said high. water mark as found in 1951, 85 feet, more
or less; thence in a direct extension westerly of the southerly
boundary of said land of the party of the second part, S. 750

The Quit Claim deed of Thomas B. Reeve and Helen J. Reeve, - his
wife, is being held in abeyance until receipt of a survey map.
A survey map .is also being requested for the Phillips quit claim
deed.
On motion- of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Gordon, it was
RESOLVED that Ronald Dietrich; North Road, Southold, New York, be
granted permission to place an onshore-offshore mooring in
Arshamomaque Pond, at' the south end-of Bayview Avenue, - Southold,
all in accordance with the detailed specifications as presented'
in the originating application. Fee $5. 00.

On motion , of Mr. Gordon, - seconded. by ,Mr. Robertson, it was
RESOLVED that Daniel T. Smith-, 640 Mechanic Street, Southold, New
York be granted permission to .repldcectEnaexisting dock with a

new dock .4 ft. by- 16_ ft.-, ramp 10- ft. by 4. ft. , and float 5 'ft.
by 10 ft.. :at his property on Goose Creek, off North Bayview Road;
Southold, all in accordance with the detailed specifications- as -
presented. in the originating application.. Fee $10.' 60.

On motion of Mr. Robertson,. seconded by Mr. Bird, it was
RESOLVED that Ralph C. Condit Wells- Road, Peconic, New York be
granted permission to place an offshore mushroom mooring in
Richmond Creek, in front of his own property on Wells Road,
Peconic, aLl .in accordance with. the detailed specifications as
presented in the originating application. Fee $5. 00.
Vote of the Board: Ayes : Mr. .Goldsmith, Mr. -Robertson, Mr.. Gordon,
Mr. Bird. .
On motion of Mr. Bird�prsesended by Mr. Gordon, it was
RESOLVED that the. Board of Southold Town Trustees recommends the-
approval- of Wetland Application No. 18 by Ralph C. Condit, for
permission to build an open dock across the meadow at his .property
on Wells Road, Peconic, New..York-. This type - of .open construction
has been urged by the Town Trustees in the past, prior to the
passage of the -Wetland ordinance. I.t allows for .the rise and fall
of tide and will in no way interfere with the ecology of the area.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr- Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Gordon,
Mr. Bird.
On motion of Mr. Gordon, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was.
RESOLVED that Ralph C. Condit, Wells Road, Peconic, New York be
granted permission to construct a walkway 4 ft. by 39 ft. on his
-property at Richmond Creek, off Wells Road, Peconic, New York, all
in accordance with the detailed specifications as presented in the
originating application.-- Providing he obtains approval of his
wetland application from the Southold Town Board. Fee $15.60.

Mr. Bird.
On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Gordon, it was
RESOLVED that. Hardcld P. Schwerdt, 139-07 88 Avenue Jamaica, New
York, be granted permission to place an onshore-offshore mooring
in Goose Creek in front of his own property on corner of Oak Avenue
and Cedar Drive, Southold, all in accordance with the detailed
specifications as presented in the originating application. Fee $5. 0.0.
Vote of the Board: Ayes : Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Gordon,
Mr. Bird.
On motion of Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was
RESOLVED that Franklyn J. Wanser, 1 Hickory Avenue, Southold, New
York, be granted permission to place an onshore-offshore mooring
in front of the property of Harold P. Schwerdt, off Cedar Drive and
Oak Avenue, Southold, in Goose Creek - #$25 on Goose Bay Property

Owners' Association, Map,' all in accordance with the detailed
specifications` as presented -in the originating application.
Fee $5. 00.

An application from Dr. Samuel S. Cohen, Indian Neck Lane,
Peconic, for an offshore mushroom mooring. in Richmond' Creek,
off Indian Neck Lane, Peconic .was- received and -isbeing' held'"''
for investigation.

RESOLVED that the Board of Southold- Town Trustees minutes of-
May 6 , 1974 be approved as .submitted..

On motion of Mr.- Horton, seconded•.by Mr. Robertson, it was'
RESOLVED that the next-meeting of the Board of Southold Town .

York.
