Tuesday, March 24, 1959. Present: Emmons Dean John F. McNulty Frank Dawson Philip Weiler Alvah B. Goldsmith Marion Regent The matter of dredging in Town Harbor by the County dredge was discussed. The- Board voted unanimously to grant the permit to the Town Board of the Town of .Southold without a fee as it is a community project. The permit will cover the work shgwn on a map of "Proposed Dredging in Town HArbor, Town of Southold, Suffolk, County, New York" as to area to be dredged and the spoil areas. The Board adjourned to inspect the conditions at the entrance to Peconic Inlet as complaints have been made that the channel is not being dredged according to the terms of the permission given to Wesley Bednosky. Goldsmith, Clerk" i NOTICE OF ADOPTION (� OF ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that after a Public Hearing held pursuant to the requirements of law, the follow- ing ordinance was duly adopted at a meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,New York, on May 18, 1959. SOUTHOLD TOWN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PLACING OF OBSTRUCTIONS IN AND ON TOWN WATERS AND PUBLIC LAND, AND THE REMOVAL OF SAND, GRAVEL OR OTHER MA- TERIALS FROM LANDS UNDER TOWN WATERS Section 1. No person shall place any piles, stakes, buoys. piers, docks, bulk- heads or other objects in or on any Town waters or public lands under or adjacent to Town waters in the Town of Southold, nor shall any person re- move any sand, gravel or other mater- ials from lands under Town waters in the Town of Southold, without first obtaining a permit therefor from the Board of Trustees of the Town of Southold. I Section 2. No person shall moor, anchor or place any boat on any public lands at the end of any Town High- way in the Town of Southold in an area established by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Southold as a restricted area. Section 3. The Board of Trustees of the Town of Southold is hereby auth- orized and empowered. (a) To issue revocable permits for the placing of piles, stakes, buoys, docks or other objects in or on any Town waters or public lands under or ad- jacent to Town waters, and for the removal of sand, gravel or other ma- terials from lands under Town waters, Provided that the same do not obstruct or interfere with navigation or the public use of said waters or lands. (b) To establish and designate re- stricted areas at the end of Town Highways in the Town of Southold wherein the mooring, anchoring or placing of boats shall be prohibited. (c) To establish uniform fees for the issuance of permits required by this ordinance. Section 4. Any violation of the pro- visions of this ordinance shall con- stitute an offense and shall be punish- able by a fine of not more than $50.00. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
