Town Clerk's Office Nov. 25, 1957.
A meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to order
by President Emmons Dean at 4 P.M. at the Town Clerk's Orifice.
Present: Emmons Dean
Philip Weiler
Frank Dawson
Alvah B. Goldsmith
Marion Regent
Permits previously granted to Will F. Smith, Herman W. Johnston
and Leonard Gilman & Wife were signed.
The necessary information requested of Will F. Smith was
furnished thereby completing the transaction so that the
permit could be issued.
A letter was read from the Secretary of the Dept. of State,
D ivision of the Land Office, in reply to the remonstrance
filed by the Town T— ru ees in the matter of the application
for a grant of land under water in Southold Bay by Meadow
Point P rties , Inc. , stating that the matter had been
referred to t e money General for report. The Town Trustees
will be notified of any hearing on remonstrance before the
Standing Committee of the Board of Commissioners of the Land
Office.
An application was received from Paul G. E w r G for permission
to dredge a 25 ft. X 25 ft. area ' ePT of 3 ft. in hchs
own property on the channel off James Creek, on Olejule Lane
in Mattituck. Permission granted for a fee of 6 10.00.
A petition was received from 38 Baymen requesting that 5
specific areas be opendd up for the taking of blig scallops._
1. Gibbs Bay
2. Orient Dock to Pete Neck Point
3 . Goose Creek
4. Indian Neck outside
5. Cedar Beach to Paradise Point
The Board moved to ask the Town Board to take the necessary
steps to secure permission from the Conservation Department
in conformity with the request of the Baymen.
The Trustees voted to request the Town Board to enact an
ordinance to enable the Trustees to enforce the compliance
of all persons to the regulations of said Trustees in the
erection of any and all docks , bulkheads , pilings , stakex,
structures in or 6n the lands under water in the Town of
Southold as well as to the dredging, or filling of such lands.
