Minutes of Town Trustee Meeting April 23, 1957.
Town Clerk's Office Southold, New York.
A meeting of the Town Trustees was held at the Town Clerk's Office,
Southold, at 4 P.M. on April 23, 1957.
Present: Emmons Dean, President
John McNulty
Frank Dawson
Philip Weiler
Alvah B. Goldsmith, Clerk
Marion Regent, Sec.
Minutes of the meeting of March 26, 1957 were read and approved.
Permits previously authorized were signed for Herman A. Moeller
and William yansker.
The matter of publishing the notice of Town Trustees requiring
permits for erection of docks, piling, bulkheading or for dredging
in Town waters was discussed and Town Counsel was consulted as
to the permissible penalties for violation of this requirement.
It was stated by Town Cou$el Terry that the Town Trustees would
have to institute an action against any offenders requiring them
to remove any such structure, It was decided to include this
threat in properly worded terms in the notice after approval
by Town Counsel.
The matter of access to the water near the abutment of Jockey
Creek Bridge was brought up and discussed. 2t was decided to
refer this matter to the Town Board for determination.
The request of Mr. Everett Goldsmith to move his present dock
to the westerly side of his property on Jockey Creek instead of
in the center of it was discussed. Since the request was accomp—
anied by a letter of consent from William Moffat in front of
whose property two stakes were to be erected, the Board agreed
to this change without the issuance of an additional permit.
The original permit was issued to Henry Goldsmitb the joint
owner with Everett Goldsmith of the property concerned.
The next meeting of the Town Trustees will be held the last
Tuesday in May unless specially called.
The minutes were read and approved.
The meeting adjourned at 5:20 P.M.
