TOWN TRUSTEE MEETING MARCH 269 1957,
TOWN C=IS BUILDING SOUTHOLD, NEW YORK
A meeting of the Town Trustees was called to order at 4 P.M.
on Tuesday, March 26, 1957, by President Emmons Dean,
Present: Emmons Dean Alvah B. Goldsmith
John McNulty Philip Weiler
Frank Dawson Marion Regent
Application of Williaa Aansjer, for permission to erect a bulkIlead
above high water mark and, to dredge and grade the land in front
of the dock on his property on Richmond Creek was read. After a
report by the Secretary that he had inspected the site and that
it conformed to the ggneral shore line, the application was. approved.
The fee $10.00.
It was regularly voted that the notice published in the Long Island
Traveller and the Suffolk Times in March, 1954, be published again
in the same two papers for a period of four months and that a copy .
of Bald notice be posted in each Post Office in the Town,
A discussion of the powers of the Town Trustees to enforce the
requirements for persons to secure permits to erect docks and to
dredge, etc. in Town waters was held and it was suggested that
the Clerk get a ruling.of Town Counsel on this. It was felt that
some penalty should ,apply and that such penalties should be
included in the notice.
An application of Herman Moeller for permission to erect a bulk—
head and dock on Jockey Creek was read.and studied, The Board
decided to inspect the property before taking action. After visit—
ing the sight it was found that the proposed dock would conform to
the limits of adjacent docks and would not interfere with navigation
in the creek. The Board therefore voted to approve the application
and issue the necessary permit for a fee of $25.00.
