A meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to order at the Southold Town Clerk's Office at 4 P.M. Monday, July 289 1958. Present: Em-ons Dean Philip Weiler Frank Dawson John McNulty Alvah B. Goldsmith tip. Howard Terry, Building Inspector Mrs . Car.rol D.-Newell appeared before the Board to request that steps be taken to relieve the hazard of the stopped-up entrance to Peconic Inlet . Mrs . Newell requested that if possible some permanent method of stabilizing the inlet be undertaken.if Application of HAROLD L. SMITH FOR PERMISSION to erect a 4'x7t wing on each side of his present dock to form a "T" was read. .Application was granted. Fee $$10.00. The revised proposed TOWN ORDINANCE for the regulation of moorings , etc . was read and discussed. On motion the proposed ordinance was unanimously adopted and the Town Board was requested to hold the public hearing as soon as legally possible. At the suggestion of the Town Board the Town Trustees hereby grant permission to GIESLEY BEDNOSKY, Southold, to dredge the channel from Peconic Inlet to the Sound to provide a flow of water in and out of the inlet to relieve the stagnant condition. that exists there . It is understood that this channel shall be approximately 15 feet wide and to a depth of 1 to 2 feet below mean low water along the original channel. . The excavated material shall be re- moved by said Bednosky for his own use as compensation for this dredging. It is further understood that this work shall be per- formed to a uniform grade and depth and shall be completed within 60 days. Minutes read and approved.
