TRUSTEE MEETING OF MAY 269 1958.
A meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to order at
' 4 P.M. at the Southold Clerk Office on Monday, May 26, 1958.

An application was received from BOATMEN'S HARBOR, INC. , W. Harry
Lister, President, Sifteitheeappliceition was incomplete it was
voted to return it for further information and a diagram of the
proposed work. I
Application of J. HENRY -GIES for permission to erect a dock in
front of his. property on the easterly side of Arshamomaque Creek
was received and discussed. It was voted to grant the permit for
a fee of $10.00.
Application of MORTON & ROSALIND PHILLIPS for permission to erect
spiles (dock) on their property on Mattituck Crreek as received. �
Permit ranted - fee to be $10.00. E � LA) _ZK,�'s�
Application of JOHN BUTTERWORTH FOR JAMES GRIFFIN for permission
to erect a dock on his property off the main channel of Mattituck
Creek to the east was received. Permit granted- Fee to be $10.00.
Application of THOMAS B. REEVE, Mattituc4, for permission to erect
a dock and float on his property on Mattituck Creek was received.
The permit was granted after a telephone conversation with. Mr.
Reeve in which he agreed to attach the float to the end of the
dock with a ramp connecting the float to the doc#. Fee- $10,00.
.Application of DOROTHY M. JOHNSTON, Nassau Point, for permission
to erect a dock and dredge in the lagoon in front of their property
was read. Permission granted- fee $25.00.
The following resolution was adopted:-
BE IT RESOLVED: That, by reason of numerous complaints from Town
Residents , the Town Board cause an Ordinance to be passed prohibit-
ing -the mooring of boats in and off the end of public highways and/or
in Town waters adjacent thereto:
AND BE- IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That no permanent moorings for boats
shall be placed in Town waters without a permit from the Town Trustees;
AND no such moorings shall be located in navigable channels ,or anchored
therein in such a position as to allow the boat moored thereto to
obstruct the navigable channels;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That such Ordinance become effective
immediately.
Penalty for violation of this Ordinance shall be determined by the
Town Board and enforced by the Town Police or Special Police as
the Town Board may determine. Respectfully requested.
