BFUTIFICATION OF OTC CRFEK & INLFT SHORE LIPID
Since the town claims jurisdiction over all creeks and .inlets we submit
the following recommendation's to the Town Trustees when granting permits:
BULKHEADS
1 - All bulkheads be kept 4 to 6 Ft, back of average high water line
2 - On straight shore lines where a bulkhead already etxistso, permits
should be granted only to continue bulkheading of same general
construction and height and at the same distance from average high
water line.
3- On irregular shore lines permits should be grained only to follow
general shore line at the distance provided for in No.l.
/+ - Any requests. for permits for bulkheads jutting out at any angle
to now existing adjoining bulkheads cor extending nearer to cr below
average high water line should be.given only after the written
permission of the three adjoining proPerty.owners on either side of
the property owner seeking a permit,
MKS
Mcplanation w a structure supported by spiles which a man can pass
under at lour tide,
l - Limit lengths up to 75 As and width up to 6 ft, being sure that
any requests under consideration will not block. a natural channel,
SPILES
Explanation - -when. 2 or 3 spiles .are put-down and tied,togetherto
prevent raising by ice they shall be considered as ore`spiles
1 In conjunction with a dock 2 on each side. and .possibly.2 mare but .
in no case- projecting beyond the. out er and of the. dock,
2 - Where no dock is concerned - not over 4 and none to be sunk further
than 75 f't, from average high water line and only directly in front
of property of m7ner seeking permission.
DREDGING:BY CRANE.FROM SHORE
Any permit to fill up behind a bulkhead brings moire-water into a creek
ar inlet.which,is an advantage to all concerned!
1 - Permits should only be granted for contour dredging which will not
change existing average high water lines - an example of the
beautiful shore line obtained can be seen on the former Roon property.
2 - Pile up dredging should only_be permitted on breaker bars ar •where
the operation will be a benefit. to all shore line property owners '- an
examplo of this type can be seen on properties owned by Hill and
Hendrickson which would take a hurricane tide to give it a natural
contour and ' hen most of it would wash back intending to fill up any
other place already dredged.
Marinas - Beat Yards - Fishing Stations now existing or to be located
in or out of business zone where requests are made for extending
bulkheading...docking and piling beyond:average high water mark.
It is recommended that permits be issued only after a well publicized
public hearing is held to ascertain all angles of the project.
