A meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to
order by President Emmons Dean at 1: 30 P.M. on Monday,
March 26, 1962 .

Minutes of the previous meeting were read for information.
Application of GERALD and MARGARET PEFFERT for a permit
to erect a dock in front of their property on Jockey
Creek, said dock to be 4 feet in width and 50 feet in
length was considered. Application was approved. Fee $1,6.00.
Application of Howard Lee for a permit to dredge an
area 15 feet wide by 30 feet long in front of his prop-
erty on Jockey Creek, fill to be used to rebuild the eroded
shore line caused by storms; and to erect a dock not to
exceed 20 feet out from shore, and to install one piling
for pull line was read and discussed. Permit granted.
Fee $25 .00 for dock, dredging and piling.
Application of Ralph and Doreen Conklin for a permit
to erect. a bulkhead on Mill Creek approximately parallel-
ing the present shore line of their property, said bulk-
head to be 150 feet in length was received. Application for
bulkhead approved. Fee $15 .00.
�\ A letter was read from Robert Tasker, Town Counsel, advising
that the amendment to the law relating to the fixing of
compensation of the Town Trustees by the Town Board was
signed by the Governor on February 20, 1962 .
Request from Supervisor Albertson that permission be
given the Town Board to erect 4 pilings in Gull Pond
was presented by Mr . Dean. Since this Town request was
considered to be to the interest of the local area the
request was granted.
Mr . McNulty and Mr . Dawson reported that they had iansppeted
the work done on the Audioun property in Deep Hole Creek,
Mattituck, and that the amount of fill dredged up was not
as much as originally requested. The fee is therefore
reduced to $15 .00.
Minutes read and approved. Meeting adjourned at 2: 30 P.M.

signed by the Governor on February 20, 1962 (Chapter 38 of the Laws

AN ACT
To amend chapter six hundred fifteen of the laws of eighteen
hundred ninety-three, entitled "An act to create the board
of trustees of the town of Southold and empower said board
to manage and dispose of the common lands and lands under
water, belonging to said town", in relation to the compensa-
tion of members of such board
The People of the State of New York,represented in Senate and
'Assembly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section four of chapter six hundred fifteen of the laws
2 of eighteen ,hundred ninety-three, entitled "An act to create the
3 board of trustees of the town of Southold and empower said board
4 to manage and dispose of the common lands and lands under water,
'k 5 belonging to said town", as last amended by chapter four hundred
y} 6 four of the laws of nineteen hundred fifty-two, is hereby repealed

7 and a new section four is hereby inserted therein in place thereof,
8 to read as follows:

1 § 4. The town board of the town of Southold shall fix, from
I time to time, the salaries of the members of the board of trustees
3 and determine when the same may be payable.
4 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
NOTE.—§ 4 of the above entitled act provides for per dieni compensation of
the members of the board of trustees of the town of Southold. The repeal
thereof is prhposed for the purpose of rewriting such section as above net
forth.
