BOARD OF SOUTHOLD TOWN TRUSTEES
Meeting of June 7, 1976
A regular meeting of the Board of Southold Town Trustees was
held at 7:30 P.M. , Monday, June 7, 1976, at the Town Board
meeting room, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, with the
following present:
Alvah B. Goldsmith, Chairman
Douglas M. Robertson
Philip G. Horton
George C. Bird
Joseph Hataier
Betty Neville, Secretary
Also present: Orville Terry NFEC; Bob Rinklin -L.I. Traveler Watchman
Application of William "Johnston for bulkheading, dredging, and filling
,/at Fisherman's Beach, Cutchogue, N.Y. was further tabled at the request
of the applicant' s attorney, William Wickham, Esq. , Mattituck, N.Y.
Application of Leonard Walters, 2900 Stillwater Avenue, Cutchogue, N.Y.
/for permission to place offshore mooring at East Creek, Cutchogue, N.Y.
"' was further tabled. No further information or revised plan has been
received from the applicant.
On motion of Mr. Bird, seconded by.' Mr. Horton it was
RESOLVED that Dwight Edstrom, Grand Avenue PA Box 170, Mattituck, N.Y.
✓Ne GRANTED permission to place offshore mooring (3001b. mushroom w/ 75ft.
chain at Mattituck Creek, Mattituck, N.Y.., all in accordance with the
detailed specifications- as presented in the originating application.
Fee paid $5.00
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird, Mr. Hataier.
This mooring will not be put out until after Labor Day.
On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Hataier, it was
RESOLVED that Jean Harford, Pvt. .Road, Southold, N.Y. be
GRANTED permission to place ramp 22' x10' , float 61x18' w/ 2 pilings
at
Corey Creek, Southold, N.Y. , all in accordance with the detailed
specifications as presented in the originating application. Fee
paid $15.30
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird, Mr. Hataier.
On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Hataier, it was
_RESOLVED that Henry D. Wong, Mason Drive, Cutchogue, N.Y. be
GRANTED permission to place ramp 22' x 101 , float 6' x 20' with 2
pilings at Haywater Cove, Cutchogue, N.Y. , all in accordance with
p. 210
the detailed specifications as presented in the originating application.
Fee paid $16.50.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith' Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton
Mr. Bird, Mr. Hataier.
On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was
RESOLVED that John H. Becker, North Bayview Road, Southold, N.Y. be
/GRANTED permission to place onshore-offshore mooring at Goose Creek,
Southold, N.Y. (at the end of Beachwood Lane) , all in accordance with
the detailed specifications as presented in the originating applica-
tion. Fee paid $5.00 -
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird, Mr. Hataier.
On motion of Mr. Hataier, seconded by Mr. Goldsmith, it was
RESOLVED that Carl P. Boerrgesson, Laughing Waters, Southold, N.Y. be
GRANTED permission to place offshore mooring 'at Corey Creek, off
,/Minnehaha Blvd. , Southold, N.Y. , all in accordance with the detailed
specifications as presented in the originating application. Fee
paid $5.00
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr: Robertson, Mr. Horton
Mr. Bird, Mr. Hataier.
Chairman ,Goldsmith read letter .of May 27, 1976 received from Lorraine
Dunhuber regarding properties at Mud Creek, Little Neck Shores,
Cutchogue.' Enclosed were copies of deed :dated July' 6, 1936 covering
the sale of the property -by Carrie L. Wells to John Henwood and 2
surveys (1 ) one of the Duhhuber property dated 1971 ; (2) survey
V`of Little Neck Shores dated 1929, both by Otto Van Tuyl. Mr.
Robertson had secured the map df -the subject properties from Van
Tuyl since our last meeting. ' The Board will go down and inspect this
property to determine whicD of .these obstructions are on Town owned
property and which are on private property. The' Board will meet at
Joseph Hataier's house on Beebe Drive, Cutchogue at 7: 30 P.M. , Tuesday,
on June 15, 1976:zto .make this inspection:
Letter received and read from Fred M. Wingett, President of the
I/Gardiners Bay Estates Club, Inca advising us of the maintenance dredging
at Orient Harbor and Spring Pond, Orient.
Larry Tuthill asked if the Board was aware of the idea of joint meetings
of the town municipalities as .proposed in the new proposed Tidal
Wetlands Act. The Board has been studying the proposed Tidal Wetlands
Act. Orville Terry advised the Board that the proposed Tidal Wetlands
Map is available for inspection at:N.Y.S: Dec Office, Bldg. 40,
Stonybrook, N.Y.
On motion of Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Goldsmith, it was
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Board of Southold Town Trustees,
dated May 17, 1976 be approved as submitted.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird, Mr. Hataier.
On motion of Mr. Goldsmith, seconded by Mr. Hataier, it was
RESOLVED that the next regular meeting of the Board of Southold Town
Trustees be held at, 7:30 P.M. ,, Monday, July ,12, 1976, at the Town
Board meeting room, 16 Sout�oStreet, Greenport, N.Y. ",
