HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-10/07/1939 Southold, New York c ,tob:er A meeting of the Town Trustees held in the Town Clerk' s Office Southold on above date. Meeting called to order by President Tabor. Directors- present: Tabor, Dean Davis Horton McNulty Supervisor Horton was present also six men interested in the scallop industry. . Trustee Davis reported that there is an abundance of bug scallops in Mill Creek and recommended that permission be giveN the public to remove some of the bug scallops and plant in. suitable places for their development. A motion to resind motion of Sept. 23 refering to removal of bug scallops from Mill Creek as suitable places for planting was not specified. Motion carried. A motion made and carried that Trustee Dean have supervision of removal of bug scallops from Mill Creek and that 20 bushels be planted in creek know as Jockey Creek and 75 bushels be planted in Cutchogue Harbor and the bulk of the remainder to be planted in Pete Neck Bay. Motion made and carried that help employed by Mr. Dean in this work be paid $4.00 per day. Supervisor reported that The Town Board agreed to appropriate a sum of money not to exceed $200.00 for the removal and planting of the escallops. A motion made and carried that the Trustees Clerk send a bill for 4930.00 to Franc Robinson, Commodore of the Southold Yacht Club for permission to dredge at the Club properly known as the Dike. Permission granted by the Town Trustees at meeting on September 3, 1935. Minutes areproved - on motion meeting adjourned. C. J. McNulty Clerk
