HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-07/18/1949 July 189 1949 34 A meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to order at the Town Clerk's Office, Southold, New York, on July 18th, 1949 at 2:00 P.M. Those present were: Emmons Dean Lyle Tuthill Harry Mason Alvah B. Goldsmith R. G. Terry, Jr. Town Counsel Supervisor Norman Klipp Supervisor Norman Kli.pp reported regarding Town Ordinance relat- ing to taking of escallops in Town waters. He reported on the advisability of changing the legal time of taking escallops to coincide with state law. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Town Board be requested to amend Section 2 accordingly. A discussion was held on the liability of the Town of Southold as a result of granting of permits to dredge where the results of dredging cause a steep bank into deep water. Town Counsel Terry reported that a clause was included in all permits holding that the grants or permits were issued on condition that the grantee hold thw Town free from liability as a xesult of any work performed under such grant or permit. The application of Nassau Farms Assn. and The Commoners was read requesting permissiori to dredge a channel about 30 feet wide and 300 feet long across the bar which has formed across the entrance of Little Creek just north of property of Mrs. John Messenger. Permission was granted subject to the written consent of Mrs. John Messenger and the filing of regular fobm of application by the parties concerned, viz Mrs . Messenger, The Nassau Farms Assn, and the Commoners. The minutes were read and approved. The meeting adjourned at 3:15 Pm Alvah B. Goldsmith, Clerk
