December 18, 1943
A meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was held in the Supervisor' s
office at Greenport December 18 at 1:30 p.m. with president Tab:br in
the chair.
Present Trustees were: Tabor
Dean
S. Horton
Goldsmith
Reeves
The minutes of the last meeting were read for information only.
Supervisor Horton and Council Terry were also present. at this
meeting.
This meeting was in regards to the scallops and under water properties.
The resolution that was presented before the board was adopted. The
resolution was read before the board of trustees and will be signed
by the Clerk and a copy sent to the Town Clerl(Office to be presented
before the Town Board of Southold Town.
These minutes were approved as read.

Resolution of Town Trustees - December 18, 1943
WHERAS, this Board of Trustees of the Town of Southold has title
Too call lands under water in the Town of Southold, and the right
of fishing and control of the products of said waters, for the benefit-
of the inhabitants of said town, by virtue of the ancient Town
Charter, and LLIEREAD. it appears necessary for the best interests
of this Town and its inhabitants that this Board, at this time,
regulate the taking and the manner of taking escallops from the
waters of the Town, +and IA pursuant to Chapter01+ 2 of the
Laws of 1938, as amended, the Town Board of the Town of Southold
is empowered to enact ordinances, as requested by this Board of
Trustees, NOW TIERLFORE, it:is herby RESOLVED, that this Board
of Trustees of the Town of Southold request the saik Town Board
of this Tozrn of Southold, in t^IZiting, to promptly take any and
all steps and proceedings as may be necessary to duly enact an
ordincane regulating the taking, and the manner of takeing
escallops for the waters of the towns
