The Southold Town Board of Town ,Trustees met at the Torn Clerk- Office,
Main Road, Southold, New York,. on Monday, June 7,, 1971 at 7.00yP.M.

Mattituck, New York, bounded northeasterly by Mattituck Creek. The
area in question is` a..portion along the shore where the high water
mark has changed since a. 1920 survey, ., du' toydredging. by�, the County
of Suffolk. - The property_ owners consented at the_ time of the. dredging
-to' the fill being, placed on their property. _ ;Et is now necessary for

Mr. Harold .L.. Smith, "Secretary of • the Goose Bay Civic, Association,, Inc.
appeared before the Board to_' answe'r questions regarding an -application
he submitted for"permissioh to dredge ,and build a dock at the -end of
Pine Avenue, Goose Bay, Estates Southold, New-York. Mr. Smith stated
that the dredging is being done to restore portion of a channel to

condition existing after dredging done in 1967 pursuant to a Town
Trustees permit No. -429:` \ The -present saor-- was made necessary 'by
accumulation of vast amounts of sand washed into channel by
surface water from Pine Avenue and storm erosion of the beach.
The -dock was build in 19577 and removed .by the `Goose Bay" Civic .
Association this` spring iri connection with- the dredging'".woik and
they wish permission to restore the dock a-, ramp.-'to its original
pos it-ion (dock Permit #466,. April l,' 1'-6_8* .

(private-road) , Goose Bay-Estates, Southold, , lVew York," removed in
connection with- dredging`work and originally- granted -- permit
#466a April 1, 1968: Site of- the dock is` two 8 ft. bar" '10 ft.
platforms. This permit is granted all 'i:n 'accordance with appli"
cation submitted. No fee required for this restoration work.

property in' question to`ve-rify`the distance from the existing
roads to the proposed bulkheads.
Mr. Edward R. Burke. 1925 -.Bay .Avenue, Mattituck,�`New' York appeared
before the Town Trustees to submit additional information in
support o'f hi's application--to- build a:,'bulkhead. 'oh his `property -at
James- Creek. - Mr. Burke submitted letters" from his `adjoining
property owners,. Mr. Edward Yanke -and the Mattituck Park- District,
both showing no ,objection to the proposed bulkhead. He also
submitted a survey -nap ^of- the property: -"The`' bulkhead is to be
appr-oximatelp 100 -ft.-' along the' o3d ne ry Yiigh water mark on James
Creek: Mr. Burke stated that the purpose of the bu-l.khead.--i.s to

Cutchogue, New York, all in accordance with the application submitted.

The Town Trustees received a copy-`of a 1e'tt'er from Mr. FCase dated
September 1970 to the Sod-hold' .Town Planning-Board��and_.an-an applies»
-"cation to the -Trustees'dated September 14 1910 -stktfhg`7that'his-
intentions were .merely to dyke the property and`=widen -)fh e 'exis'ting
gutters falldwing -the `natural course -so as- not fo"-make`them-'look'
like a ditch and spoil the natural beauty -and' to prevent`�extreme'
high tides from encroaching on his property. The Trustees inspected
this .prope'rty' in 'Sep'tertber 1970 'ir'd-- t--was tfie -decision of--the Board
that`iriasmuch-as= the land in question was-owned by the applicant
and-the"wor-k`would`be' done-on h,is property and -has no' bearing on
Town waters, the 'Trustees .wou.ld wcYive objection in'this -matter and
there wouid "be no -formal`permit� kequired:
