A regular meeting of the Board of Southold Town Trustees was
held- at 7:30 p.m. , Tuesday, January 4, 1977, at the Town Board
meeting room, Supervisor' s Office, 16 South Street, Greenport,
New York, with the following-present:
Alvah B. Goldsmith, Chairman
Douglas M. Robertson
Joseph Hataier
Absent:
George Bird
Philip G. Horton
Also present:
Orville Terry, North Fork Environmental Council
Paul Stoutenburgh, North Fork Environmental Council
Robert Werber, L. I. Traveler - Watchman
Eric Corwith, Southampton Town Trustee
Chairman Goldsmith called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
The matter of the application of LAWRENCE T. WAITZ for a mooring
at Mud Creek, Cutchogue was postponed until the next meeting for
further study.
On motion made by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Hataier,
it was
RESOLVED that the application of ANDREW GALGANO for a
floating dock at Mattituck Creek be APPROVED subject to the
floating dock being at least twenty feet from the extended property
lines.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier
The Board would like to review the area of Narrow River Road
before issuing any renewals for mooring permits.
The Chairman declared the minutes of the meeting of December 6,
1976 approved as submitted, there being no objection from the
members present.
The next meeting of the Board of Town Trustees will be held
February 1, 1977.
There will be a meeting January 13, 1977 at 10:00 a.m. at Brasby' s
with Joyce Burland, County Legislator, for the purpose of
discussing the plans and options for dredging waterways in the
five eastern towns.
Mr. Eric Corwith, Southampton Town Trustee, appeared before the
Board to request .support in their fight to regain four creeks
condemned by Suffolk County. He asked the Board to write a letter
requesting Legislator Burland requesting discussion on the
condemnation procedures after the meeting on January 12, 1977.

Mr. Stoutenburgh'requested that some kind of program be started
to keep the rainwater from going into the creeks.
Motion was made by .Mr. Robertson,. seconded by Mr. Hataier
and carried that-' the 'meeting be adjourned. Meeting was adjourned
at 8:45.
