A regular meeting of the Board of Town Trustees was held at
7:30 p.m. , Tuesday, February 1, 1977, at the Town Board Meeting Room,
Supervisor' s .Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, with the
following present':
Alvah B. .Goldsmith, Chairman
Douglas M. Robertson
Joseph Hataier
George Bird
Philip Horton
Chairman Goldsmith called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. .
William H. Tschirhart, Esq. , appeared before the board on behalf
of Mary K. Trock who owns property on Mattituck Creek. The Corps
of Engineers dredged the creek and deposited spoil here and
increased the property. A quitclaim deed is necessary to clear
the title. - The adjoining property formerly owned by Armbrust has
been quitclaimed by the Town of Southold in 1968.
On motion made by Mr. Horton,Iseconded by Mr. Robertson, it
was
RESOLVED that a quitclaim deed be executed for the filled
area adjoining the upland of the property of Mary K. Trock, as
presented by the attorney for the applicant.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier,
Bird and Horton.
Joseph M. Cornacchia - application for offshore mooring.
The matter was tabled for further information from Mr. Cornacchia.
The Board will need a more accurate placing of the mooring and a
determination. as to where -he-.will-.gain access. . If:.it is off
private property, -he will need permission of the owners. ' Mr. '
Horton would like to be contacted by Mr. Cornacchia about this matter.
The Board requested that out-of-town addresses and tele-ohnne
numbers be shown on future applications.
Benjamin J. Kowalski application for offshore stake.
This matter was tabled pending information from Mr. Kowalski as to
the owner of the property off which he wishes to place his stake.
If it is private property or an association for the use of property
owners in the vicinity, he will need written permission of the owner.

On motion made .by Mr.. Hataier, seconded by Mr. .Horton, it was
RESOLVED to grant the application. of Lawrence T. Waitz for an
offshore mooring at the northern end of Mud Creek, Cutchogue. . -
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier,
Bird and Horton. I
On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it
was
RESOLVED that the following is the recommendation_ of the Board
of -,Town Trustees -in-:regard to ,--the '.request-of�of the Town--Board for
findingsWand .recommendations on--the ,-Wetland Application--#28-o'f
Harriet Spilman:
At a regular`-'meeting of the Board of Town Trustees held
December 6, 1976, the following action was taken: .
RESOLVED that Harriet Spilman, West Creek Avenue, Cutchogue,
New York be granted permission to construct walkway and floating
dock at Little- Creek) - directly in front of her property at West
Creek Avenue, .Cutchogue, New York, all--in--'accordance with: the
detailed specifications as presented in the originating application,
subject to obtaining wetlands permit from the Southold Town Board
and permit from� the 'New York- State Department of Environmental
Conservation (if required) .
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier,
Bird and Horton.
Sebastian' s Gutter. . The following information was to be trans-
mitted to the Planning Board. If there were any property that '
the Town or County or any body wanted to retire as.'a wetland
area, this would be one of the best. Upon inspection, Mr. Hataier -'
reported he couldn't find any existence of a dredged channel and
would recommend that this particular area should not be dredged.
This was agreed upon by all members.
Mr. Robertson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Horton and
carried that a letter be written -to the Planning Board that the
Board of Town Trustees would look upon any such project with
disfavor.
There was a discussion on moorings in Narrow Diver and a
/request will be made to the Town Board for a meeting on this
matter on February 8.
Mr. Bird made a motion, seconded by Mr. Robertson and
carried to approve the minutes of the meeting of January 4, 1977.

On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was
RESOLVED that Muriel Brush be appointed as secretary of the
Board of Southold Town Trustees for the year 1977 and until notice v
of change of such appointment.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier,
Bird and Horton.
The next meeting of the Board of Town Trustees will be
held on March 8, 1977.
Motion was made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Horton and
carried to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
