HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-06/07/1977 252 June 7, 19771, A regular meeting of the Board of Town Trustees- was held at 7:30 p.m. , Tuesday, June 7, 1977 at the Town Hall, Main' Road, Southold. Present were : Alvah B. Goldsmith, Chairman Douglas Robertson, Trustee Joseph Hataier, Trustee George Bird, Trustee Philip G. Horton, Trustee Chairman Goldsmith called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.M. . Chairman Goldsmith declared the minutes of the meeting of May 3, 1977 approved with the correction that the application of ,i Peter Bogovic should indicate that the mooring was to be located in Goose Creek rather than Jockey Creek. The Board will review the application of Peter 'Bogovic at a future date. On.. motion made by., Mr. Horton, .seconded by Mr. Bird, .it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Joseph R. Avignon for an onshore stake with pulley,. line to buoy anchored by a 100 lb. - concrete weight in Mattituck Creek off private property of the applicant. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier. . . . On motion made by Mr. Hataier, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of H. A. Bocyek for an erosion control bulkhead or retaining wall in place of stone ,/ revetment above MRW mark and all spartina alternaflora to conform to the contours of the upland in Mud Creek off private property of the applicant. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier. On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Hataier, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of James C. Brown to build a catwalk or dock on private property of the applicant extending to about low water mark in East Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier. 253 . On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird,; it was RESOLVED to, deny at the present time the application -of Dr. Samuel S. Cohen for a 100 lb. mushroom mooring off .public property on Richmond Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier,. Bird and Horton On motion made by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED -to approve the application of Lillian Cowan for a 75 lb. mushroom mooring. off private. property of the applicant in Corey Creek. On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Nicholas G. Leimone for a 125 lb. mushroom mooring off public property at the end of Bayview Avenue, Mattituck Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes : ..Gold.smith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton On motion, made by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED 'to approve the application of Norman Norden for the use .of. Town . Stake. #12 at Sterling_ Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes:. Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, ,. Bird and Horton _ On motion made by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED to table the application of. Dr. Maxwell Simkin for a 350 lb. mushroom mooring off private property of the applicant. At Gull Pond and the applicant be permitted to moor his boat parallel to his bulkhead by putting out two spiles not further than 20 feet from the bulkheading. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton The application of. Henry. Oman was tabled-pending -further investigation of where the present moorings are located on Bayview Avenue at Arshamomaque Pond. 254 On motion. made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was . RESOLVED to. approve. the. application of. Felice .Vander.be.ck for two 75 lb. mushroom. moorings'°bff private,'prope.rty- o,f the applicant at Corey Creek with the provision that the installation of the mooring on the righthand side be held_up until the matter of the Boergesson mooring is resolved. Horton, it was RESOLVED that the application of Velim_ir Vrankovic for an._ offshore stake at Sterling Basin be tabled for further information. On motion made by Mr. Robertson, seconded. by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve the . application .of Bennie Wysocki for an offshore stake off private property of John B. Tuthill in ,i Orient Creek, with the permission of Mr. Tuthill. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Horton and Bird On motion made by .Mr,. Hataier, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED to reserve decision on the application of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works for proposed maintenance /dredging at Wickham Creek for further investigation. Request is ✓ made that the plan of dreding be revised to go no further than station 25 and the spoil be placed , on the east side in front of the Fleets Neck area. Vote of the Board:- . Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works for proposed maintenance dredging at the entrance to Cedar Beach Harbor inlet, Town of Southold. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith,. Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton 255 On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of -the Suffolk County Department of Public Works for proposed maintenance dredging at � the entrance to Corey Creek, .Town of Southold. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton On motion 'made by Mr. Horton:, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve- the application of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works for proposed maintenance dredging at the entz.ance to Halls Creek, Town of Southold. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to a pprove the application of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works for proposed maintenance dredging at the entrance to Brushes Creek, Town of Southold. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, s Bird and Horton On motion made by Mr. Horton., seconded by Mr. Bird, it was. RESOLVED that when Little Creek is dredged that the spoil be placed along the park district beach, commonly called the causeway. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton The application of Clara B;jerknes has been tabled again as no further information has been forthcoming. On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED to deny the application of David J. Zazeski for -an offshore stake at the intersection of Route 27A and Westphalia Road in Mattituck Creek because of the congestion in the area. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton 256 On motion made by Mr. Robertson, seconded by' Mr. .Horton, it was RESOLVED to approve the -application .of .Edwin .M. Latson for an offshore mooring consisting of a mushroom and. Danforth off private property of the applicant at' Town Creek. ' Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton On motion made by Mr. Robertson, seconded by .Mr. Bird, , it was f RESOLVED to approve the application .o.f .Edwar.d J. Tillistrand for a swamp anchor mooring off public property at Goose Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Horton and Bird A letter from Ms. Lorraine Dunhuber was discussed in which she complained of work being done on- the Simonsen ,property at Mud Creek The Board directed that a letter be written to the Simonsens .requesting that' they advise. '.the. B.o.ar.d­:o.f Town' Trustees as to when a meeting can be arranged to discuss this situation. They can contact' Mr. Hataier. Mr. Prado inquired as to what can be done about trees that -` have toppled into the creeks. ' Mr. Goldsmith feels it' is' the responsibility of the property owner. Mrs. Prado asked about dredging the mouth of Gull Pond. She was told to inform the Supervisor of this. Mrs. Adler complained about beach 'buggies on Cedar Beach as the barrier is now .broken. This is probably a .county' matter and Mr. Goldsmith will contact them about -it. ' Mr. Falconer complained about road drainage .that is going into the creek in the vicinity. .of. Stillwater Avenue ,- Cutchogue . He was advised to discuss this matter with the Supt­of Highways'. , Mr. Goldsmiths declared the minutes of the special meeting of May 6, 1977 approved.
