HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-10/04/1977 267 October 4, 1977 A regular meeting of the Board of Town Trustees was held at 7:30 p.m. , Tuesday, October 4, 1977 at the Town Hall, Main Road, Southold. Present were Alvah B. Goldsmith, Chairman Philip G. Horton, Trustee George Bird, Trustee Joseph Hataier, Trustee Douglas Robertson, Trustee Paul Stou.tenburgh; North .Fork Environmental Council Stephen Katz, Long Island Traveler-Watchman Orville .Terry On motion made by Mr. Hataier, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Donald C. DeLalla to place a 150 lb. mushroom mooring off private property of the applicant at Mud Creek with the provision that the mooring be placed in shallow water. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and' Hataier On motion made by Mr. Hataier, seconded by :Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Port of Egypt Enter prises, Inc. to install a 450 foot floating dock with 20 fingers attached subject to' the provision that no boats moored will extend into the channel so as to interfere with navigation and,"'i'n the event this occurs, . modification will be made. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Peter Bogovic to place r a floating .dock off private property of the applicant at Goose Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier The Superintendent of Highways is to be contacted by the Board of Town Trustees as to what can be done to protect the abutment to the bridge at . Goose.-Creek especially at the southwest side of the property of Peter Bogovic as erosion is taking place in the area. 268 On motion made, by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Nicholas Dapcic to place an onshore-offshore -mooring off public property on• Goose Creek subject to the applicant furnishing .the Board of Town Trustees the size, type and number of the boat being moored.' Vote of the Board: Ayes : Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED to grant the request of Harvey D. and B. Loretta /Vom Lehn for an extension for 12 months of their permit to place a platform over existing dock off private property of .the applicants at Corey Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird-, it was RESOLVED to recommend to the, :Southold Town. B.oard" approval of Wetlands Application #32 of Albert L. DeLauro for permission to v extend and re-enforce bulkhead return' to prevent erosion of soil into channel, approximately 20 cubic yards of fill to restore original grade at Town Harbor. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Horton; it was RESOLVED to deny the application of George Johnnidis to place a 125 .1b. mushroom mooring off public property at .Mattituck Creek because of insufficient space iri the area. Vote of the -Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, ' Horton, Bird and Hataier' On motion made by Mr. Horton, 'seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED' to 'table the application of -Joanne B. McSherrry for J permission to 'place -a floating dock off private property of the applicant at Broadwater Cove' for further examination and information. It. is recommended the dock' be limited to 32- feet 'in length and a diagram be submitted to show the exact location on the property. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier 269 On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of William A. - Penney, Jr. for permission to place a floating dock off private property of the applicant at Town Creek. Vote of the Board:. Ayes.: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier, On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED to table the application of Conrad Volinski, Sr. to place an onshore-offshore mooring. off public, property . at Narrow River for further investigation of the waiting list for this area. Vote of .the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, . Horton, Bird . and Hataier On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED to table the request of Andrew Galgano for an extension of his permit to construct a floating dock off private property of the applic ant, at Mattituck Creek for further investigation of the property. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was RESOLVED to table the application of Charles Berner for permission to construct a dock and float on private property of the applicant .at Mapes Creek. Mr. Berner is to be advised to contact Mr. Bird and Mr. Horton so a meeting can be arranged to inspect the property. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Horton, Bird and Hataier Mr. Hataier reported that he had inspected the Simonson and Robbins properties and all obstructions had been removed. A letter is to be sent to Mr. Robbins and Mrs. Simonson indicating that the inspection by the Board of Town Trustees shows that they have complied with the request of the Board in a very satisfactory manner. The Board appreciates their cooperation. 270 Mr. Horton made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bird. and carried to approve .the minutes of .Septemb.er 13, 1977 as submitted, The next meeting of -the Board of Town.. -Trustees-.will be. held on November 1, 1977. Trustees direct .a_ .....,.. ._, . ....,, Mr: Paul Stoutenbizrg requested that`the o h: ' ' Board' f Torn, _ letter to the Department of Environmental ,Conservation requesting that a,- check be made of. Stirling Harbor as to the possibility of opening it for shellfishing after December lst,,until May . 31st. The Board agreed with Mr.. Stoutenburgh' s request. Mr:. Stoutenburgh. showed the Board a leaflet .that is being prepare'd., by the North Fork Environmental_..Counc.il to, acquaint people with mules and ,regulations and "perrriits required for- 'any projects which have.,to do with the envir.onment..., ,The .Council . intends to distribute the leaflet to real estate businesses I in town and have them available at the Town Clerk' s Office.
