HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-07/05/1978 305 A regular meeting of the Board of Southold Town Trustees was held July 5, . 1978 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, Main Road, Southold, New York. ' Present- were: - President Philip G. Horton Trustee Scott Harris Trustee Anna Hataier Trustee John Nickles Trustee Paul 'Stoutenburgh Deugla's. Love, L. I. Traveler-Watchman On motion made .by Trustee Hataier, seconded by Trustee Harris,, it was 0 RESOLVED to revoke the mooring of Baldwin L. -Humm upon completion of the bulkhead and dredging. ✓ Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh . The matter..-of the length of the dock applied for by •Henry P. Smith was discussed. The Board of Town Trustees (Philip Horton-, John Nickles, Anna Hataier and Paul Stoutenburgh) met at the site on Saturday, June 10.. Trustees Horton, Nickles and Hataier were in agreement about the 100 foot length and Mr. Stoutenburgh abstained. Trustee 'Stoutenburrgh requested that the minutes show that he feels it is an excessive length of dock. Motion was made by Trustee Nickles, seconded by.:Trustee Hataier and carried to approve the minutes of the. meeting of June 6, 1978 as amended. . Motion was made by Trustee Stoutenburgh, seconded by Trustee Nickles and carried that permit numbers three inches high be placed on docks and bulkheads on the seaward- .side in the future. There was a brief discussion concerning the possibility of charging an annual renewal fee' for docks. There was nothing resolved. On motion made by Trustee Hataier, seconded by Trustee 7 ✓ Stoutenburgh, it was- RESOLVED to approve the application of Bernard F. Rollinson to place an offshore stake with pulley line to onshore stake at the end of Meadow Lane at Arshamomaque Pond. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris,. Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh 306 On .motion made by Trustee Hataier, seconded by Trustee Nickles, it was NI ��o1 RESOLVED to approve the application of .Michael J. -.Vota- to place ✓�, a 50 lb. mushroom mooring off private property- at Mattituck Creek. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris; Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh On motion- made by Trustee Hataier, seconded` by Trustee. Harris, it was RESOLVED to .ap-prov& the application of Philip J. Montgomery to place an offshore stake at end of Rochelle Place-, James Creek, subject to.,. the., following:-. 1. Mr. David Ackerman be consulted at to the exact-, location r of the stake. 2. Hataier, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Stan Rogalski to place . a floating dock in front of private property of the applicant at West Lake ,i Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh The Board .would -like to suggest that a catwalk be placed over the ;.it, won'_t bog so, be :eroded... Trustee Hataier reported that .she had contacted Mr. Simonson about placing objects below the high water mark in the creek. He has assured Trustee Hataier that no more objects will .:be placed there and if there. is a.. str..ong opposition to the stump, he will remove that also. 307 .On motion made. by Trustee Hataier, seconded by Trustee Harris, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Fred Hribok to place a bottom mooring with pulley to shore off private property of the applicant at Arshamomaque Pond subject to further inspection. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh On motion made by Trustee Harris, seconded by Trustee Hataier, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Andrew J. Asch, Jr. to place an offshore stake with pulley line to. onshore stake off private property- of John B. Tuthill at Orient Creek with Mr. Tuthill' s permission, subject to further inspection. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh On motion made by Trustee Nickles, seconded by Trustee Hataier, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Charles Guhl to place a- 75 lb. mushroom mooring in Gull Pond, location of same to be determined ,by John' Geidemann, subject to further inspection. r Vote of the Board: Ayes: 'Horton, Harris, Hataier., Nickles, Stoutenburgh On 'motion made by Trustee Hataier, seconded by Trustee Harris, it was RESOLVED to- approve the application ofJ'Alexander- LeDdrine to place a 75 lb. mushroom anchor off private property of the applicant at Goose Creek, subject to further inspection. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh On Motion made by Trustee Horton, seconded by Trustee Hataier, it was RESOLVED to approve the following applications for moorings at Narrow .River upon receipt of the $5.00 application fee and the applicant contacting Trustee Scott Harris as to the location and number being placed on the stake. 308 John,-J... Richmond Creek Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Hataier, Nickles, Stoutenburgh .,•" Trustee Stoutenburgh made a-`motion,—seconded• by Trustee Harris and carried that President Horton write a letter in appropriate language�.to.'tYe Army Corps of Engineers regarding the reasons that the Board'of Town' -Trustees recommend, disapproval of a permit to.- Robert Dier to place a 4' by 250' dock in the Bay 500 feet east of Founders. Landing Beach. Among the reason& to .be cited are the possible use as- a commercial venture in a residentially zoned area, consideration of the Army Corps of Engineers as to a possible navigational 'hazard,: out of character for the -area arid .possibility `of setting a _precedent in the. area, adequate• facilities in immediate area to_ take care of boats of that size. Motion was made by Trustee Stoutenburgh,- . seconded ,by Trustee Harris that' .the Town Attorney, Robert Tasker. , be contacted as to whether the permit of Matt-a-Mar issued in ••19(66 is still valid. Motion was carried. = The next meeting of the trustees will be' held' 'August 1, 1978. There `being 'no further business to come before the 'board, Trustee Harris made a motion, seconded by Trustee ,Hataier and carried.,to adjourn the meeting.
