SOUTHOLD TOWN TRUSTEES
Meeting of June 5, 1972
The Southold Town Trustees met at the Town Clerk' s Office; Main
Road, Southold, New York, on Monday, June 5, 1972 , at 7 :30 P.M. ,
with the following present :
A1vah.B. Goldsmith, Chairman, Douglas M. Robertson,
George A. Simpson, Philip G. Horton, Rudolph Johnson,
and Judith T. Boken, Secretary.
Mr. Patrick Carrig- appeared before the Board on behalf of Howard
Hassler, 1950 Clearview Avenue, Southold, New York; 'for permission
to build a ramp and float.
On motion
. of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was'
RESOLVED, that Howard Hassler, 1950 Clearview Avenue, Southold,
New York; be granted permission to build a ramp "3 - ft. by 10 ft. ,
and floating dock 8 ft. by 14 ft. with two pilings at his property
on Goose Creek, Southold, New York, all in accordance with the
application submitted. Fee $16. 20.

Mr. Carrig also spoke with the "Board about the application of '
Charles C. McNeilly, private road Jacobs Lane) , Southold, New
York, for` permission to construct a dock at his property ,on Goose
Creek, Southold. The Board will investigate the site, as the
application is inaccurate and incomplete.
Dr. Joseph J. Lizewski appeared before the Board and presented
his application for permission to build a ramp, dock and pilings.
On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Johnson, it was
RESOLVED, that Joseph J. Lizewski, Depot Lane; Cutchogue, New York,
be granted -permission to construct a ramp 3 ft. by 6 ft. , dock
5 ft. by '7 ft. ;" and place "three pilings • in Eugene Creek in front
of his property at Fleetwood Road, Cutchogue, New York, all in
accordance with the application submitted. Fee $8. 3'0.

Mr. Horton, Mr. -Johnson.
Dr. Lizewski spoke to the Board about the serious health problem
caused by polution, existing at the foot of East Creek, Cutchogue.
Dr. Lizewski was advised to draw up ,a petition for maintenance
dredging and have the -neighbors in the area sign it and present
the petition to the Town Board.

On motion of Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was
RESOLVED that James Hamilton, Pine Neck Road, Southold, New
York, be granted permission to build a- ramp 6 ft. by 6 ft. ,
floating dock 6 ft. by 24 ft. , with four (4) double pilings
at his property on Jockey Creek, off of Pine Neck Road, Southold,
New York, all in accordance with the application submitted.
Fee $26. 00.

Simpson, Mr. - Horton, Mr. Johnson. .

RESOLVED, that Carl Henkel, 1221, Main Street, Greenport, New
York, be granted Town, Mooring #1 (2. stakes - on-shore and
off-shore.), at Town landing off Manhanset Avenue,. ,on ,Sterling
Harbor, Greenport, New York, all in. accordance with ,the appli-
cation submitted. Fee $2. 00.

off-shore) , at Town landiUgooff Manlanset Avenue, on Sterling
Harbor,, Greenport, New York, all in accordance with the appli-.

on-shore,' and off-shore) , at Town landing off Manhanset Avenue,
on Sterling Harbor, Greenport,. New York, all in accordance
with the application submitted. Fee $2.00..

at Town landing off Manhanset Avenue, on Sterling Harbor,
Greenport, New, York, all ih accordance, with. the application
submitted. Fee $2.00.

off-shore) at Town landing off Manhanset Avenue, on Sterling

off-shore) at Town landing off Manhanset ,Avenue, on. Sterling
Harbor, Greenport, New York, all in accordance with the applica-
tion submitted. Fee $2.00.

off-shore)- at Town landing off Manhanset -Avenue, on Sterling
Harbor, Greenport, New York, all in accordance with the applica-
tion submitted. Fee $2.00.

off-shore) at Town landing off Manhanset Avenue, on Sterling
Harbor, Greenport, New York, all in accordance with the' applica-
tion submitted. Fee $2. 00.

Harbor, Greenport, New York, all in accordance with .the applica-

New York, be granted permission to place a mooring- in Jockey
Creek in front of his property at Wells ,Avenue, Southold, ;all
in accordance with the application submitted.- Fee $1.00.

north of Rochelle Place, .Mattituck, New York, all -in accordance
with the application submitted. Fee $1. 00.

and off-shore) in Mill Creek, atthe foot of .Bayview Avenue,
north of Colony Road, Southold, New York,- all in accordance
with the application submitted. Fee $2. 00.

N-ew York, be granted permission- to place two stakes (on-shore
and off-shore) in Mill Creek, at the foot of. Bayview Avenue,
north of Colony Road, Southold, New York, all in accordance
with the application submitted. Fee $2.00.

be granted permission to place a mooring, off-shore take with
pully line to on-shore stake, in Mattituck Creek, off Westphalia
Road, Mattituck, New York, all in - accordance with the applica-
tion submitted. Fee $2. 00.

On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr.' Johnson, it was
RESOLVED,-that Robert Cooper, Lot 9, Osprey Nest Road, Cleaves
Point, East Marion, New York,- be granted permission to build
a dock 40 ft. long by 6 ft. wide at his property on Gull
Pond, Cleaves Point, all ,in accordance with the application
submitted. Fee $24.00.

On motion .of. Mr.. Simpson,, seconded by Mr. .=Horton, it, was
RESOLVED, that C. . R. Boyd, 140.. Wampum Road, West Islip, New York,
be granted permission to extend his -existing dock - 16 ft. by, 5 ft.
and place two 2 pile dolphins in Jockey Creek, at his property
off Pine Neck Road, Southold, all in accordance with the applica4
tion submitted. Fee $12.00. _

by 4 ft. at her property on private road, on the south side Corey
Creek, Southold, New York, all in accordance with the application
submitted. Fee $6.40.

On motion of Mr. Robertson,,i secs nded by Mr. Horton, it was
RESOLVED, . that, Donald DiLalla, Bay Avenue, Cutchogue, New York,
be granted permission for maintenance dredging at his property
on MuddCfeek, Bay Avenue, Cutchogue, New York, all in accord-
ance with the application submitted. Fee $5.00.

The Board received, from the Suffolk County Department of Public
Works, the preliminary plan for maintenance dredging at Deep
Hole Creek, Mattituck, New York.
On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was
RESOLVED, that the Board of Town Trustees approves the preliminary
plan showing dredging project and spoil areas at Deep Hole Creek,
Mattituck, New York, as proposed by the Suffolk County Department
of Public Works.

Simpson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Johnson.
On motion of Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was
RESOLVED, that the minutes of May 1, 1972 be approved as submitted.

On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was
RESOLVED, that Permit No. 702, Stake No. 292 , issued to Jerome
B. Lewin, 76-37 167th Street, Flushing, New York, to place a
mooring stake in Goose Bay, Mooring ##11 on Mooring Map of Goose
Bay Estates, Southold, New York, be REVOKEDD This permit is
revoked in accordance with the terms and conditions of the permit,
and the Board of Town Trustees ' agreement with the Goose Bay Civic
Association, Inc. , which requires written approval of the upland

owner. Mr. Lewin failed to obtain this written approval:
