HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-01/03/1972 1 SOUTHOLD TOWN TRUSTEES Meeting of January 3, 1972 The Southold Town Trustees met at the Town Clerk 's Office, Main Road, Southold, New York on Monday, January 3 , 1972 at 7 :30 P.M. with the following present: Alvah B. Goldsmith, Douglas M. Robertson, George A. Simpson, Philip G. Horton, Rudolph Johnson, Judith T. Boken, Secretary. Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Simpson welcomed Mr. Horton and Mr. Johnson as new members of the Southold Town Trustees. On motion of Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED: That Mr. Alvah B. Goldsmith be re-elected chairman of the Southold Town Trustees. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Mr. Simpson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Hatton, Mr. Johnson. On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was RESOLVED: That the minutes of December 6, 1971 be approved as submitted. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Johnson. The Board signed the following approved .permits : ##691- (4 pilings #289) Rudy Koubek; #692 (2 stakes #290) Philip & Brigitte Proferes . On motion of Mr. Hotton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED: That the Security National Bank of Long Island, Southold, New York, be and hereby is designated as a depository of this Board of Town Trustees, and the Chairman of this Board, Alvah B. Goldsmith, and Secretary to this Board, Judith T. .Bokenr _are authorized to deposit any of the funds of this Board in said Bank, and either of the following individuals may sign, hake, draw, accept or indorse on behalf, or in the name of this Board, any and a.11 .checks,.. ..for the payment of money_,_ _or the _withdrawal of funds :- _Alvah .B. Goldsmith, _Judith T. ..Boken_ This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. Voteo:f the .Board: Ayes : .. Mr._ Goldsmith, _Mr. _Robertson, .Mr.. Simpson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Johnson. The Board examined map of Jockey Creek area opposite Wells Avenue and Hill Road, Southold. There is a proposal by George Ahlers to dredge a channel to connect with the County channel, and place the fill in Jockey Creek, thereby creating an island. 2 The entire Board agreed that they would not look favorably upon an application for the aforesaid dredging project. The Board received application;. ##1 for a wetland permit from Antonia Lalane and Renee Lalane, with instructions from the Town Clerk to prepare a written report of findings and recommendations with respect to this application and submit said report to the Southold Town Board within 20 days of receipt of the application. On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr.Johnson, it was RESOLVED: Thattthe Southold Town Trustees have examined wetlands application ##1 of Renee and Antonia Lalane for permission to fill lowlands, Lot 44, Mattituck Estates. The Town Trustees find that this application in no way inter- feres with tidal waters, nor Town owned properties that might be considered under the jurisdiction of the Town Trustees. We, therefore, waive objection and recommend the granting of this permit. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Johnson. The Board received application ##2 for a wetland permit from Edward Abitz, Contractor, with instructions from the Town Clerk to prepare ' a written report of findings and recommendations with respect to this application and submit said report to the Southold Town Board within 20 days of receipt of the application. On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Trustees have examined wetlands application ##2 of Edward Abitz, Contractor, for permission' to fill tyowlands ,' Lots 40 and '41, Mattituck Estates. The Town Trustees find that this application in no way inter- feres with tidal waters, nor Town owned properties that might be considered under the jurisdiction of the Town Trustees. We, therefore, waive objection and recommend the granting of this permit. Vote of the Board: Ayes : Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Johnson. Mr. Goldsmith asked each member of the Board to review the Application for Permit form and ,Permit form the Board of Town Trustees and -make suggestions for changes on these forms. On motion of Mr. Horiton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Southold Town Trustees will be held 7 :30 P.M. , Monday, February 7 , 1972 at the Town Clerk Office, Main Road, ' Southold, New York.
