A -special meeting of (the Board of Town Trustees was held at
7:30 p.m. , Tuesday; December 18, .1979 at .the Town Hall, Main Road,
Southold, New York. Present were:
President Philip G. Horton
Trustee Scott Harris
Trustee Anna Hataier
Trustee Cynthia Kaminsky
Trustee Paul Stoutenburgh
Trustee-elect Frank Kujawski, Jr..
Trustee-elect Halsey Staples
Trustee-elect Henry Smith
Troy Gustayson, Suffolk Times
Mr. Horton called -this special meeting to report on -a meeting
he had with Leander B. Glover' s attorney, Richard Lark; the Fleet' s
Neck Property Owners Assn. attorney, .S'tephen Angell; and -the Town
Attorney,'- Robert Tasker.
Mr. Horton stated that it is the policy of the Trustees to give
public access at the ends of roads. Before the County filled- in,
there was water at the end of East Road -in ,Fleet' s -Necks Mr. Horton
feels the Trustees have jurisdiction in this area. He would like to
see the road end at the water.' He feels that an agreement with all
parties concerned is ' a lot better, than going to court. There are
three parties that are...using the same land. Until actual property
lines are set, it will be in limbo. Mr. Stoutenburgh stated he felt
the filling was -done illegally.
Trustee Harms brought to the Board' s attention the fact that
the lease at Narrow River has about a year and a half to run.
