Tuesday, September 20, 1966, at the Town Office, ' Southold, New York, at 7:30 P.M. There were present: Messrs: John Wickham, Chairman; Henry Moisa, Alfred Grebe, William Unkelbach. Also present: Otto Van Tuyl, Consultant; Lawrence Tuthill, P.E.:; Raymond Dean,- Sup`t of Highways; Howard Terry, Building Inspector. Mr. Van Tuyl submitted a map of the land to be developed by South Fork Development-Corp at- Bayview, Southold, New York. It-was the opinion of the Planning Board that further discussion on this development be held over until the applicants are present. On motion by Mr. Moisa, seconded by Mr. Unkelbach, it-.was RESOLVED that the following annual estimate be submitted to the Southold Town Board for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1967: EXPENDITURES: Stationery, postage, printing, advertising legal notices, etc. $ 350. 00 Telephone ..(Chairman) and-Office 200.00 Association of Towns Mtg. - New York 350.00 Office Equipment 150.00 T Southold Town Planning Board -2- September 20, 1966 Transportation :(Fishers Island Member) $ 800.00 Car'Expense C $.10 100.00 Members Remuneration: Chairman: $1350 Others: $1250 6350. 00 $8300. 00__TOTAL REVENUES: Estimated income from subdivision applications $ 350. 00 The Board request an increase in salary in view of the increase in the amount of work to be done by this Board. Dated: September 20,' 1966. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham, Mr. Moisa, Mr. Grebe,, Mr. Unkelbach. A letter was received from the New York' State Federation of Official Planning Organizations, advising of the "2'8th Annual Planning Institute to be held October 23-25, 1966, at the. .Nevele Country'Club in Ellenvile. Mr.. Wickham and Mr. Unkelbach "would lake to attend this Institute. Mr.- O. Kouros appeared before the Planning 'Board for approval of' a road to run north and south between Kouros Road and New Suffolk Avenue, New Suffolk, New York. The Chairman advised Mr. Kouros that the' Planning Board request a letter ' from.him- stating his intention to turn the proposed road over tothe Town of Southold. Mr. Kouros was further ' advised that the Town will not accept dedication of this road until there are houses built on the lots along the road. On motion by'Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. Moisa, it was RESOLVED that preliminary approval be granted to the proposed road to be constructed and ruri between Kouros Road and•New Suffolk Avenue,, New Suffolk, New York, as shown on the map survey for 0. Kouros, dated .March 18, 1952,,.map by Otto Van' Tuyl & Son. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham, Mr. Moisa,. Mr. Grebe, Mr. Unkelbach. q Southold Town Planning Board -3- September '20, 1966 Mr. Daniel ,.Smith -appeared before the Board in regard to the subdivision to be developed by'Daniel T. , George- Herbert, , and',William B.• Smith, located at Southold. The construction of a proposed dike, its size and exact location was discussed. Discussion was held on whether or not dredging would be done by the Town Highway Department or by The' County "Dredge. The location of the highway in the subdivision will be as shown on the final maps by'Alden W. Young. Mr.- Smith agrees to reach an agreement with Miss Howell on the right- of way which she holds title to. The performance bond for the roads in this subdivision was also discussed. The elevation of the roads in regard to draingge was discussed and whether or not a leaching basin was necessary. The original bond for the reads was set' at $12,000, however, this was based on the old Town Highway Road Specifications. On motion by Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. Moisa, it- was RESOLVED that a letter -be written to the Southold Town Board stating that in view of the fact- that- this subdivision has been. held up and that- the new highway specifications entail further construction, the Planning Board suggest - that- the amount of the performance bond be increased to a total figure of $18,000. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham, Mr. Moisa, Mr. Grebe, Mr. Unkelbach. On- motion by Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. Moisa` it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the- Southold Town' Planning Board, . dated August 2, `1966, be approved as submitted. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham, Mr. Moisa, Mr. Grebe, Mr. Unkelbach. M1 Southold Town Planning Board -4- September 20, 1966 Howard. Terry, Building Inspector, advised the' Planning Board of:,a list of sign regulations suggested by the "Pro Sign Group". On: motion by-Mr. Wickham, seconded by Mr. Moisa, it was RESOLVED that- the Planning Board has reviewed the request of the ".pro sign group", and find them, without exception, to be unreasonable, and entirely -unsuitable to the Town of: Southold; its background and probable future development. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Wickham, Mr. Moisa, Mr. Grebe, Mr. Unkelbach. Mr. .Van Tuyl presented to the Planning Board a preliminary map of land to be developed by Birch Properties, Inc. Property located at the. north end of Duck' Pond Road,- Cutchogue, New York. This subdivision would contain approximately 16 lots all of minimu,%lsize and over. The Planning 'Board agreed to hold this subdivision plan over until the next- regular•meeting of the Board. The next regular meeting of the Planning' Board will be held at 7:30 P.M:, Tuesday, October 18, 1966, at the Town; Office,. Main' Roadl Southold, New York. The meeting was adjourned at 10: 00 P.M.
