A special meeting :of the Planning Board and -Town Board
was held Tuesday afternoon on August Si! 1969
There were present: Messrs': Johri Wickham] Henry Moisaa'

Town Board: Supervisor Martocchia,i -Judge --Suteri,
Councilman Valentine,
Building :Inspectors! Howard---Terry; and William Barron
from Raymond?i Maya! Parish., & -Pine®
The .meeting was called to order -at--1:30 R.-M- by
'Chairman John Wickham.
Special Meeting o ";;,:)uthold Town August 5i, 1969
Planning Board and Town Board
Bill 'Barron •presented the Boards with a .preliminary copy
of the revised Master Plan Map for their "approval. The legend
was carefully checked over. 'It showed three ;(3) residential
classes of zoning: agricultural, low densitym & .suburban
density; one • (1) class �of industrial zoning, it was suggested
that we could separate the light -and heavy industry on our
zoning map; motels and multi-family residences were combined
and classified as resorts; " parks and open spaces were combined;
public use classification includes schoolsS,, firehousesm; and
any -other building used by the public;
The 'Planning .Board compared their rough "map with Raymond.;
May,, Parish-& Pine's'.
Bill 'Barron informed us that some of the parks .are only
'approximate locations., The present airports at Matt-ituck and
'Orient `have -been left off-a; Fishers 'Island airport .-is shown,
A discussion was held on the -number -of publications to
be ordered, The original figure was 1j000, Bill Barron
promised to get us as-many -extra as possible approximately
1_1•500 John Wickham expressed his -thought that the demand
may not be too -great at present but they will be useful in
the years to come,
The matter of a new zoning map was brought upa, John
Wickham stated that it would not -'be practical to make up
a new zoning map until we make a new zoning ordinance or
completely revise the old one,
A discussion was hold on informing the public of the
Masten "Plan. It is not necessary to hold a public hearing
and formally "adopt the plan"o "Public Information Meetings'
will be conducted -by the Planning Board. :Three meetings
will be ,scheduled: one in "Southoldv; one .in Mattituck,; and
one in Fishers Island. After these meetings the Town' Board
will announce that- the Master"-Plan has been put into "effect
-by resolution.
John Wickham 'suggested that .'the meeting "in Southold
should be .held the Friday before 'Lab-or -Day ;(August 29)
to make it fair for the summer people,
Mr a Terry- called"Southold High School to make arrange-
ments to hold' a meeting .in the school. He informed them
that we expect -approximately 200 people. Mr, :Williams
called back to confirm that August 29th will 'be. all right;
he is to send us the official forms to .be signed mnd
returned. Arrangements to be •made for Mattituck High
School. Mrs Grebe -.will make arrangements for Fishers

Bill Barron informed us that they cannot have Book II
ready by :August 29th, they hope to have,-it ready by early
September
John Wickham informed everyone that they must return
Book II so that the inserts may be added,,'
