Moisa Alfred Grebe Archibald N. Young Southold Town Planning Board April 81, 1958 A regular meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board was held on Tuesday evening, April 8, 1958, at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Clerkts Office, Southold, New York. There were present: Messrs. John Wickham, Chairman; Harold R. Reeve, Henry F. Moisa, Alfred Grebe and Archibald N. Young. Also present: Howard M. Terry, Building Inspectorl,and Mr. Otto W. Van Tuyl. The meeting was brought to order by the Chairman and Mr. Archibald N. Young of Southold was introduced as a new member of the board. On motion duly made by Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. Reeve, and carried Minutes of the March llth meeting were approved. On motion made by Mr. Reeve, seconded by Mr. Moisa, and carried, the Minutes of the March 18th meeting were approved. In the matter of petition of Constance Kendrick Overton, which had been held over until this time, concerning a change of zone from "All Residential and Agricultural to "Bu Business district certain real property described in the petition as 14.0 feet frontage x 392.f+9 feet on the easterly aide of New Suffolk Road, Cutchogue, N. Y., it was the determination of the Planning Board that it be RESOLVED, That the Planning Board recommend to the Town Board approval of this change of zone. In the matter of petition of W. Harry Lister of Rockville Center and Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, N. Y., for a change of zone from °A" Residential and Agricultural to "Bu Business District of property situated at Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, N. Y., it was the decision of the Board to hold this matter over to the next meeting as they had no definite word as to the exact dimensions of the area to be rezoned.. ,Southold Town Planning Board April 8, 1958 MINUTES, Continued Mr. Reeve then presented petition of John Wickham of Cutchogue, N. Y., for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural to "B" Business District on parcel of land situated at Cutchogue, N. Y., described in the petition and attached sketch as Parcel "A", being approximately 950 feet long by 230 feet wide. On motion made by Mr. Moisa, seconded by Mr. Grebe, and unanimously carried, it was RESOLVED, That the Planning Board recommend to the Town Board approval of this change of zone. Board then discussed the storage of dynamite in the Town of Southold. On motion duly made by Mr. Reeve, seconded by Mr. Grebe, and carried, it was RESOLVED, That the Planning Board recommend to the Town Board that in cases of application for storage buildings for dynamite or high explosives that such cases be handled by the Board of Appeals as a Special Exception. Discussion was held on the "Open Development Area" problem of the Western end of Fishers Island and this matter was to be held in abeyance for the present. Board discussed the matter of Sand, Gravel., Fill Pit and Topsoiloperations in the Town of Southold and read the replies that had been, received to the form letter which had been sent out to the various operators. Since a number of the operators had not replied to the Board's letter the Clerk was instructed to write a second letter to these operators of sand and gravel pits. The following names were added to the list of Sand and Gravel operations and the Clerk was instructed to send the regular form letter to these operators: West End Land Company, Fishers Island, New York Walter Kapustka, A1vah's Lane, Cutchogue, New York The Chairman asked Mr. Terry and the following members of the board to visit the sand and gravel operations, listed below, and to submit a report of their findings at the next meeting: Mr. Moisa to visit: Irving Tatham, East Marion, N. Y. Eastern Excavation, Orient, N. Y. Edwin H. King, Orient, N. Y. Muir Bros., East Marion Mr. Young and Mr. Terry to visit: Schroder Bros., Greenport N. Mazzaferro & Sons, Greenport Wesley Bednoski, Southold Julius Zebroski, Southold Irving Latham, Southold George with & Sons, Southold Angelo Petrucci, Cutchogue Southold Town Planning Board April S. 1958 MINUTES„ Continued ; Mr. Grebe to visit the Fisher Island operations. Price & Son, Mattituck George Taylor, Mattituck Waterville,Properties, Mattituck Recommended Rules and Regulations for the Subdivision of Land, adopted by/ the Planning Board of the Town of Southold on July 14, 1955, were carefully checked and studied. Following are the proposed revisions: Page 1 - Line 2 to read: three (3) paper prints. Line 6: base fee plus $2.00 per each additional acre. Line 9: three We Fifth paragraph,. Line 2: Delete "the center". " " " 3 and 4: Delete "recommended by the Planning Board" and Add "required by Highway specifications". Line 7: Delete: "the tracing and four (4) and Add "three (3)". Sixth paragraph; Line 4t DeUte:"maps and"' Seventh paragraph: Delete: "two or more papers" and Add "one newspaper_ . Page 3. - Item 9. - Delete: "When the Building Zone Ordinance is adopted" on line one. On line two change "zoning" to "zone". Page 4 - Item 20 - Add: "or certified copy of deed". .Page 9 - Dots a. .To read "The minimum dimensions shall be 100 width at the building line, 125' depth, and 12000 square feet area. .Page, 10 —Section 6 - Line 1. 4o read: three (3). Section ,1. - Change second line of the section to read "from U.S.C.&G. datum or ordinary high water. Page 11 - Section 7 - Filing a., Line 4: Delete "one tracing together with". it d.., Line 1: 'Delete "of the tracin ". Section 7 - The Final Plat,etc. - i. Line 2: Change not less than three) to read: (not less than two). Section 7 - J. Line 2: Delete "possible" and Add "Practical". The Chairman then asked Mr. Terry to check certain proposed revisions with the Town Attorney and also asked to have Mr. Terry advise Mr. Tasker that the Planning Board would like him to attend the next meeting of the Planning, if possible, which is to be held on May 6, 1955, at 7:30 P.M. in theT?wn Clerk's office, Southold, N.Y.
