Reeve M I N U T E S Charles Van Duzer SOUTHOLD TCUM PUNNING BOARD July 15, 1958 A regular meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board was held on July 15, 1958 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Clerk's Office, Southold, New York. There were gr esent: Messers John Wickham, Chairman, Harold R. Reeve, Robert W. Tasker, Town Consel, and Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector. Also present were Messers Alfred Grebe, Henry F. hb isa, Archibaad N. Young, and Otto ff. Van Tuyl. The Clerk read the 16inutes of the June 17, 1958 meeting, which were approved, subject to correction. . The Chairman received a letter from Mr. Baxter, President of the .Nassau Point Property Owners Association requesting notice of meetings concerning cases of persons or groups affecting the Nassua Point territory. It was: the decision of the members that the Chairman should reply, stating that Board decisions are based on a study of the facts in all cases, and shall reflect, in our opinion the best interests of the Town of Southold. It was also decided by the Board that we should put on record a statement that any recoimnendation to the Town Board by this group is made after considerable study in the field and discussion in meeting and that the primary consideration in all cases is in the best interest of the Town of Southold. A. commu_nication from the Riverhead Town Planning Board was referred to the Board in regard to the combination of all Planning Boards of Suffolk County. The members thought it best to join the Suffolk County Planning Board Association and Mr.. Archibald N. Young of Southold was designated as .the group representative. In the matter of petition of a joint application of Frank B. Rogers, Jr. and Iddgley & Horton for a change of zone from 1441U Residential and Agri— cultural District to "B1t Business District, certain real property situated in Peconic, New York, more clearly described in application and map accompanying application. It was the determination of the Planning Board to: RESOLVE, That the Planning Board recommend to the Town Board approval of this application. Notices were received from the Town Board that the petitions of Nellie yfilliams, Henry Smith, Corwin Grathwohl, Harry Smith, PLANNING BOARD and Perry Hendrickson were approved. MEMBERS John Wickham, Chairman In the matter of the application of N. S. Robinson for an Serge Doyen, Jr. Open Development Area, dated July g, 1955, it was decided by the Robert W. Gillispie, Jr. Planning Board not to recommend this to the Town Board until Harold R. Reeve we are assured that the roads in question are all three rods Charles Van Duzer wide, The sketch which was enclosed with Mr. Robinson's application was not to scale, therefore he was asked to furnish the Board with a map or sketch showing the width of the existing roads and names of aeeess roads he wished to have approved. In regard to Sand and Gravel operations, the Town of Southold has been granted the power to license or regulate these operations if they so desire. The Southold Town Planning Board has just completed a study of all the Sand and Gravel operations in the Town. This study has included a visit by members of the Board to each operationm as well as an analysis of the statements submitted by each operator. Since the majority of statements indicated that .the operator is satisfied with his present zoning status of the operation, the Board has not recommended any general change. However, since there are a few operators not completely satisfied with their present zoning, it was the decision of the Board to send letters to each operator, stating that those not satisfied with present situations should request a change. Certain property located on Fishers' Island, more clearly known as the Fort, has been set up for auctioning to private individuals. The Board decided to classify these 70 acres of land as xs44t Residential and Agricultural District. It was the determination of the Board to: RESOLVE, THat the Planning Board recommend to the Town Board approvla of this decision.
