Reeve Charles Van Duzer MINUTE S Southold Town Planning Board August 19, 1958 A regular meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board was held on August 19, 1958 in the Town Clerk's Office, Southold, New York at 8:00 p.m. There were present: Messers John Wickham , Chairman; Harold R. Reeve, Henry F. Moisa, Alfred Grebe, and Archibald N. Young. Also present were Messerrs Otto 17. Van T yl, Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, Robert 11. Tasker, Town Counsel. The Clerk read the Minutes of the July 15, 1958 meeting which were approved by the members. In the matter of petition of Eugene Puskarz of New Britian, Connecticut, for a change of zone from U-0 Residential and Agricultural District to 0M« Multiple Residence District certain real property situated at Madelane Avenue, Fisher's Island and more particularly bounded and described as follows: South by Madelane Avenue — Nest by George Griffin — North by Henry Zabolowski East by Katherine Stone. It.was the determination of the Planning Board to: RESOLVE, That the Board recommend the above application to the Town Board for approval. The Planking Board received a Sub Division from Helen G. Cochran for certain real property located and bounded as follows: PARCEL II, All that certain tract or parcel of land, situate, lying and being at Bay View, near Southold, in the crown of Southold, County of Suffolk, nand state of New York, bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING at a point markde by a locust post on the southerly line of Main Bay-view Road at the northeasterly corner of the premises described (which point is the northwesterly corner of land formerly of Nlattie A. Wells and now of Edward Ulls); running thence along said land of Wells South 30 degrees ;-3 mutes 40 seconds West a distance of 873.40 feet; running thence South 28 degrees-28 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 542.64 feet; running thence in a southerly and southwesterly direction along the line of posts and along a drain or gutter. to a point which is South 32 degrees 41 minutes 30 seconds 'ffest a distance of 592.38 feet from the last described point; continuing thence in M I N U,,T E S. Daytoh; running thence along said land of Dayton North 38 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 2036.39 feet to a point marked by a locust post on the southerly line of Main Bayview Road; running thence along said southerly line of Bayview Road, South 68 degrees. 00 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 744.94 feet to the point of beginning. It was the determination of the Planning Board to: RESOLVE, That we accept this plan and proceed with the final preparations. A check for $85 was received from the applicant in doint business in Terry Waters in connection with the application. In the matter of petition of Mrs. Windfred B. Clark, residing at Hal.ycon & Equestrian Avenues, Fisher's Island, for a change of zone from Non-Conforming ",AR Residential and Agricultural District to "B111 Business District certain real property situated at Equestrial Avenue and Beach Avenue and. more particularly bounded and. described as foll ows : As per map attached. It was the determination of the Planning Board to: RESOLVE, That the Board recommend to the Town Board that this application be denied and return the $25 fee to Mrs. Clark in the event that the petition be withheld and the public hearing he withdrawn. In the matter of the petition of Irving Latham, residing at Orients New York for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to RC", Industrial District certain real property situated on Sound View Avenue, Southold, New York more particularly described as follows: to the North by the Town of Southold. and Qstroski - on the East by Charnews & Morris - on the South by Hodgens Estate - on the West by Ca.se and George Smith & Sons and the Town of Southold, more particularly described an the attached map. It was the determination of the Board to: RESOLVE, That the Planning Board recommend to the Town Board, that the change from UAII Residential and Agricultural District to ",C!'- Industrial District be granted; however, it was the determination of the Board to hold up the petition until a more complete and accurate description of the property involved be included in the petition. In the matter of petition of G. 71. Smith & Sons for a change of zone from RAH Residential and lgricultural District to t",OlR Industrial District certain real property situated on Sound View avenue, Southold, New York more particularly bounded and described as follows: to the North by Manning - on the East by Latham - on the South by Case - on the rest by Zaveski more particularly described on the attached rap. It was the determination of the Planning Board to: RESOLVE, That the Board recommend approval of this application to the Town Board that is, the change from "'All to UCR. However, it was the determination of the Board to hold up this petition until a more accurate description of the property involved be included in the petition. In the matter of the application of Valentine Ruch IV, residing at Southold regarding certain real property situated at North Road, Arshamomoque and more particularly bounded and described as follows: (1) Easterly by Teves and lands now or formerly Merkel, Southerly by J. H. Cassidy, T;}esterly by lands of others and a private road, and Northerly by the North M I N`U T E S, Continued SOU1.'HMD TMINT PIAI�MTIJIG BOARD Lugust 19, 1958 Road and (2) a parcel bounded northerly by the North Road, V esterly by Haas and the Arsh- amomoque Pond to lands of Hines, and. Southerly along Hines' line to private road above men- tioned, the Easterly, boundary. Mr. Ruch desires to rezone both parcels from the present category to "M" Multiple Residence District, or as an alternative, to similarly rezond that portion of both parcels lying North of a line 400' South of the North Road and parallel thereto. It was the determination of the Board to: RESOLVE, That the Planning Board have the Chairman write Mr. Ruch a letter, requesting a detailed description of each parcel, i.e., in fact for each boundary line. This description to be made on the pdtition as well as on the map. The Board decided to hold this application until the next meeting. A special meeting was held on Fishers' Island, August 19, 1958 a.m. regarding certain property located on the Island known as the Fort. (Held for further study and consideration.) The Planning Board was asked to take action on the Proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendments at this meeting, but it was the determination of the Board to: RESOLVE, That The Planning Board recommend to the Town Board that these Amendments be held for further study. The next meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board .will be held on September lb, 1958 at 7:30 p.m.. in the Town Clerk's Gffice, Southold, New York. Meeting adjourned 10:30 P.T .
