MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
Southold Town Planning Board-November 10, 1958
A special meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board was held in the
Office of the Supervisor, Greenport, New York at 8:45 P.M., Monday, November 10,
1058.
Present at this meeting were: John Wickham, Chairman, Archibald N. Young,
Henry F. Moisa, Harold R. Reeve, Sr. and Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector.
The application for change of zone of DeFriest from "A" Residential and
Agricultural District to "B" Business District with the Planning Board's
recommendation including all property on the West to Wickham Avenue was referred
to the Planning Board for an official report.
On motion by Mr. Reeve, seconded by Mr. Young, and on a unanimous vote the
motion was carried that the -L'lanning Board recommend to the Town Board they
approve the change of Eone form "A" Residential And Agricultural District to
"B" Business District on the parcel described in the description furnished
by Otto W. Van Tuyl & Sons dated November 10, 1958 and attached to the DeFriest
change. of zone application. Reasons being setforth in the report of the
November 7th meeting of the Planning Board.
The application of Arnold Sacks for change -of zone from "A" Residential
and Agricultural District to "B" Business District with the Planning Board's
recommendation to include land of R. A. Yapish was referred to the Planning
Board for an official report.
On motion by Mr. Moisa and seconded by Mr. Young and upon a vote it was
carried by three favorable votes, Mr. 'Reeve not voting, that the Planning Board
recommend the change of zone from "A" District to "B" District of all the
property described in the legal description supplied by Otto W. Van Tuyl & Sons
dated November 10, 1958 and -attached to theappli.:a.tion of Arnold Sacks for
change of zone. Reasons for this decision were given in the report of the
Planning Board's meeting of November 7, 1958.

The original application of Kenneth A. rapish for a change of
zone of his property on south side of Sound Avenue from "A" Residential
and Agricultural District to "B" Business District was referred by the Town Bca rd
to the klanning Board for determination and report.
This property having been recommended to be included with land of
Sacks for change of zone upon the Town Board's own motion in a "report
submitted from the November 7th meeting of the Planning Board on the
Sacks application, it was upon motion by Mr. Moisa, seconded by Mr.
Young and on three favorable votes, Mr. Reeve not voting, it was
carried that the Planning Board recommend this change from "A"" Resi-
dential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District. The
reasons being the same as for the original recommendation to the Town
Board.
There was further discussion of the formation of park districts
and related matters.
