Vote of the Board: Ayes: Messrs - Wickham, Grebe, Moisa, Coyle, Raynor. Southold Town Planning Board - 2 - August 24 , 1972 Chairman ' s Minutes Mr. Russell of Fishers Island spoke with the Board about the excavating and filling of wetlands on Walsh property adjacent to his . At a later time Mrs . O 'Neil and Mr. Guest registered protests against this project. These people were told that Mr. Walsh could only have one single family home per acre on this land and it would require an approved highway presumably constructed to existing town highway specifications . If the adjacent owners felt that such a highway would be out of place in such a location they were advised to make their wishes known to the Planning Board and the Superintendent of Highways . In this discussion it was also brought out that Walsh had engaged in unauthorized filling of wetlands to the extent of about 1000 cubic yards and appeared to be in direct violation of the town' s wetlands ordinance. The area filled being about 240 feet land and varying in width up to 60 or more feet. This area having been covered with Spartina Patens grass and some of the grass still visable in low areas of the fill. Discussion was also held with Russell and others on the "South Beach" . This area adjoins the Airport and apparently is being used by bathers who come in by plane. The residents would prefer that this beach be developed by the Town on the Ferry District. They were informed that this would have to be cleared by the F.A.A. Jo n Wickham, Chairman /tle
