MEETING OF MARCH 24, 1960.
The Town Board reconvened- at the Southold Town Clerk' s Office at
Southold_, N..Y. ' at ;7:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Tuthill; Councilmen .Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark
and Edwards; Town Supt. of Highways. Price; Town Attorney' Tasker
and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilmen Demarest: .
WHEREAS, a petition was received from Stanley Sledzieski relative
to change of zone from "A" Residential and AGricultural District
to FBI'- Business District on Certain property on East Side of Cox Neck
Road in Mattituck, N.Y. ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town
of Southold be .and hereby is directed to transmit this application
to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision
C of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York.'
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark, and Edwards.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark:
_ WHEREAS, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. , in' accordance with a notice published
according to law, bids were. opened for proposals to furnish to the
Town of Southold 100, 000 .gallons of special grade gasoline ( :or as
much thereof as may be required `during the period from April 1,
1960 to March. 31, 1961) for the use of the Town of Southold, and
WHEREAS, only one bid was submitted which was by R. ,A. McCallum
Inc,, agent for Mobil Oil Company,
BE IT RESOLVED: That this bid be held over until the next meeting
of the Town Board for further discussion.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.and Edwards.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
WHEREAS, THE Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official
report and recommendation upon the petition of Grace Nickles for
a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to
"B" Business District on certain real property situate on south
side of Main Road, Southold, N.Y.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be
held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor' s Office in
Greenport, on Tuesday, April 12, 1960, at 2 o'clock P.M. on the
above mentioned petition, and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to cause a notice of said hearing to
be published in the LongaIsland Traveler-Mattituck Watchman,
pursuant to the requirements of law.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Barbara Young has applied to the Town Board for a
single 1.
trailer permit,
NOW, , THEREFORE, BE, IT RESOLVED: That the application of Mrs. Barbara
Young to locate a single trailer on her property at Horton Point,
Southold, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for year round occupancy
for a two year period.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Jusices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Edwards:
WHEREAS, TIME Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official
report and recommendation upon the petition of the Board of
Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District, and
WHEREAS, the said Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District
has requested that a portion of the said premises be placed in the
"B" Business District, and .

WHEREAS, the Town Board has .given consideration of this matter and
believes it -would be in the best interests of the Town of Southold-
that all, of the property- acquired by the Town of Southold from the
United States of America at. Fishers Island be placed in a "B" Bus-
iness .District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held
by the Southold Town Board at .the Supervisor's Office at Greenport,
N.Y. on April 12, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M.-. on the above mentioned.
.matter, . and that the Town Clerk be- and he .hereby is authorized and
directed to cause a notice of said hearing to be published in the
New London Day and Long Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman pursuant
to the requirements of law. .

on Tuesday, April 12, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. on. the above mentioned
petition and that the Town Clerk be. and he .hereby is ;authorized ande,
directed to cause a notice of. said hearing ..to be published in -the .
Long I"bland Traveler-Mattit uck Watchman, pursuant to the requirements
of law.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Superv.iscr Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; ,Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.
Councilman Louis M. Demarest requested the Town Clerk to write to
Mr. Koops, Manager df the Lighting Department of the Long Island
Lighting Company, asking that he contact Mr. .Demarest regarding
street lights in the Orient Lighting District.
