INSULATION The insulation was installed as per architectural plans and specifications except for part of the cathedral ceiling above the kitchen in the vaulted area of the eyebrow window. This part of the ceiling was insulated with R-30 instead of R-38. In exchange all exterior walls were upgraded to R-21 in lieu of the required R-19. DECK FOOTING AND FOUNDATION The deck footings on the landward side of the house and the foundation of the 1 S`floor addition were installed as per amended architectural plans dated 01/04/06 which were submitted to the Building Department at that time. Due to approching bad weather the contractor decided to have the foundation installed earlier than planned to avoid further construction delays- using fully grouted 8-inch masonry instead of the proposed 8-inch poured concrete walls. The footings are poured concrete and in accordance with the architect's plans. At the request of the owners the wood deck will not be constructed as indicated on the permit plans. I am enclosing a revised foundation plan and 1 st floor plan showing a square as opposed to curved deck design. The deck area of 275 SF remains the some.The deck footings will be installed at a later time. A small terrace will be created on the 2nd floor off Bedroom 3. The proposed addition is in compliance with the NYS Energy Conservation Code and is consistent with the building plans and specifications submitted with the permit application doted 09/02/2005. Window Replacements All existing windows and doors in the living room area will be replaced with Andersen 400 Series casements and sliders.The structural integrity of the exterior walls will not be effected.
