cussed. The Supervisor was instructed to advise the State Liquor
Authority that the Town of Southold desires to continue with local en-
forcement.

Whereas , the Commissioners of the 'Fishers Island Ferry District have
heretofore and on or about the 6th day of Noizember, 1948, entered '
into a bareboat charter with the Rhode Island Navigation Company for
the chartering of the vessel M.V. Yankee for the period November
81 1948 to November 11, 1948, both dates inclusive, and
Whereas , the Town Board of the Town of Southold finds that in view
of exigencies of the situation, an emergency existed requiring
immediate action by said commissioners ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED , that the acts of said Commissioners
in entering into said contract be and the same hereby is approved.

The annual audit meetirig of the Southold Town Board was held at the
office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp, at Greenport on Thursday,
December 30, 1938. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M.
with the following present; Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry;
Tuthill; Albertson and Clark; Town Supt. of Highways Price; Town
Attorney Terry Terry and Town Clerk Booth. 4r

Resolved: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board

A communication was read from the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce
dated Dec. 20th applicable to Marys Road and Mattituck Creek. . The
matter of Mattituck Creek was turned over .to the Supervisor for
investigation. The- matter of Marys Road was turned over. th the
Superintendent- of Highways and the Highway Committee for further
investigation. }
A communication was read from Mrs. Frank Brooks and Mrs. Reiter
- requesting that a snow fence be erected on Pipes Neck Road, it .
was turned over .to the Supt. of H ighways .for consideration. .

A communication was received from the Republican County Committee
from Dist. No. 3 , Town of Southold, recommending the appointment
of John L. 'Muir as School traffic officer for the East Marion r

WHEREAS, The Town Board of the 'Town- of Southold is not presently
aware of the existence of any duck farms in the Town of Southold, and
WHEREAS, the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce has requested that some
z� action be taken to prevent the establishment of duck farms within
the said Town of Southold, and
WHEREAS, after due deliberation and consideration of the pos-
sibilities of irreparable damage that might arise from the estab-
lishment of -uncontrolled and unregulated duck farms within said
j , Town of Southold, the Town Board desires that the necessary leg-
islation be enacted to permit the said Town Board to prohibit,
Y.� control and regulate the establishment and operation of duck farms
within said Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town
of. Southold go on record as favoring legislation to permit the
Prohibiting, controlling and regulating of all duck farms, rais-
ing more than 150 ducks, within said Town of Southold, by
,a ordinance, and
-' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, -that the Hon. S. WENTWORTH HORTON,
�t State Senator and the Hon. EDMUND R. LUPTON, Assemblyman,
be and they hereby are requested to introduce into the present
session of the -legislature such legislation' as, will enable the
Town Board of the Town of Southold to prohibit, regulate and
control, by ordinance, all duck farms raising in excess of 150
' ducks within the Town of Southold. _
