' The 'meeting " was called to order at 1:30 ..P.M. with the following':.present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices ferry Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims against the Town, con1luding the audit- work at 2:1 5 P.M. ,_.. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read. . . Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson: ` Resolved: That General Bills ``in the amount of $2,747.34; District � - Bills in the amount of $1,140.'49; •Non=reimbursable Welfare' Bills in the amount of $12.20, and• ,Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $11,251.39 be and the • same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: - Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board, be 'held at the Supervisor 's Office -oh Tuesday, November lb, 1948,,; at 1:30 P.M. .. Unanimously adopted. Mr. Kaplan ' of the Dawn Estates, Inc. appeared before the Board ' - - presenting ,a map. of "Captain Kid Estates" at Mattituck, for ' sub- division purposes. Moved by Justice C]ak; seconded by Justice Albertson:. Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the map'•of "Captain Kid Estates" at Mattituck. Unanimously adopted... Moved by Justice Terry; 'se,conded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That the Supervisor meet with a group of baymen of Southold Town' and arrange to have bug scallops transferred-,"from .-- Mill Creek to the waters throughout Southold Town. " Be It Further Resolved: That the- amount to be expended for .such purpose shall not exceed $300. Unanimously adopted. A letter was read from Leland H:. Goss tending his resignation as Commissioner of the Fishers Island Ferry .District. I Moved by Justice Terry.:; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That the resignation of Leland H. Goss,' as Commis- sioner of the Fishers Island Ferry District, be accepted by ,the 4 Board retroactive to .Aug. 25, 1948. Unanimously adopted. This Town Board has met at the time and place specified in the Y notice of public hearing 'on the preliminary, budget and as there ` were no interested persons having appeared before the Board to speak either for or against any of the., items in the- ,proposed, budget ,. - the hearing was formally closed at 2:30 P'.M. . r - Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark; and' on roll , r call unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill:; Whereas , the Town Superintendent of Highways did on the 3rd day of November, 1948, duly recommends the purchase of certain ` machinery pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 142 of the. Hibhway � Law, and a notice of such recommendation has been duly published - as- provided in such action, Nowl Therefore Be It Resolved that pursuant to Sec. 142 of the Hilglgway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby author- ized to purchase from Long Island Produce & Fertilizer Co. with ` '€ the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways one Inter- � ..1 national Dump Truck for a total price of $5;750.00 delivered at Peconic, N.Y. The Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby , authorized, subject to the approval of the County Superintendent ti - of' Highways, to surrender to the above named vendor one Internat- ional Dump Truck as part payment for the above machinery to be pur- chased. The terms of payment will be as follows: Trade-in al- lowance $750. , check drawn on Machinery Fund $5,000. Total $5,750.
