HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-10/08/1948 Meeting of October 8, 1948 ` The Southold Town Board met at th.e office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport on Friday, October 8, 1948. The meeting was called to order at 2:30 'P.M. with the following present: Super- visor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Previous- to. the opening-of the meet ng-this,,Board• -went to--.Mattituck ` to view a proposed road and a road to be discontinued on the DawnrEstates at Mattituck, ' also a proposed road- on the Lidico property at Southold. The matter was laid on the table for future consideration. r- - The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read. y Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the street lighting contract between the Town of Southold and the Long Island Lighting Co . for Mattituck L. ghting CD District #1 be and hereby is Approved by the Town Board, said contract • is for one ;year and expires on Sept . ,25, 1949. Unanimously adopted. � - The annual highway estimate and budget wax presented by Super- intendent of Highways Price for approval. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark:: Resolved: That the annual H�gkwa.y Estima to and budget for ` the year 1949 be and the same is hereby approved by the Town Board. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertspn: Resolved: That this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year begin- ning on the 1st day of January, 1949, the itemized statement of the estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of .this resolution, and be it ,. Further Resolved: That such preliminary budget shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available at y all reasonable hours, and be it Further Resolved: That this Board shall meet at 2 o ' clock P.M. on the 3rd day of November, 1948, for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon such preliminary budget, and be it ► Further Fezolved: That the Town Clerk give notice of such Public Hearing .in the manner provided in Section 113 of the Town Law. ,.
