Meeting of Sept. 71 1948
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Su ervisor N8rman ��--
E. Klipp, at Greenport, on Tuesday Sept. 71" 19&8. The meeting
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: � -
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; --�
Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims _
against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2:30 P.M.

The minutes of the previous meetings were read. and duly approved as
read.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: r
Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held
at the office of the Supervisor on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1948, at
1:30 P.M.

WHEREAS, The Supervisor was heretofore, by resolution duly adopted
by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, directed to obtain
definite plans and specifications and a careful:;, estimate of the
expense of constructing and erecting a chain link galvanized
wire fence on the East and South sides of the existing Town Dump
at Cutchogue, and
WHEREAS, said plans and specifications have been made and filed with
the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold, and have been examined
b$ the Town Board, ` {
NOW, THEREFORE, E; IT RESOLVED, that said plans and specifications
be and the same are hereby approved and adopted, and be it further
RESOLVED, that this Board invite sealed proposals to be submitted
to it at 2:00 otclock P.M. , Daylight Saving Time, on the 21st day �J
of September, 1948, at the office of the Supervisor in the Village
of Greenport, N.Y. , for the construction and erection of a chain
link galvanized wire fence on the East and South sides of the
existing Town' Dump at Cutchogue, in accordance with the aforesaid
plans and specifications, and that the Town Clerk be and he is
hereby directed to prepare with the assistance of the Town Attor-
ney, proper notices, .calling for special proposals in detail, and ..
cause same to- be published in due form of law.Unanimously adopted.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals are sought and
requested for furnishing all materials and doing all work neces-
sary for the performance according to specifications of a con-
tract to be let by the T014N OF SOUTHOLD for constructing and erect-
ing a chain link galvanized wire fence on the East and South sides
of the existing Town Dump located at Cutdhogue, in the To«i of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York.
The sealed proposals will be received by the Town Board at
the Office of the Supervisor in the Village of Greenport, New
York, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. , (Daylight Saving Time) , on the 21st
day of September, 1946, and will be considered publicly at such
time and place. Specifications for the execution of the .work can
be examined at the office of the Town Clerk, at Southold, New York'
between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.

10, 1948 to September 209 1948, except that •onfSaturdays the
hours will be from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon, and that the Town
Clerk' s office will not be open on Satufday afternoons and Sundays.
PROPOSALS SHALL BE MADE AND RECEIVED upon the following ^conditions: Each proposal must be accompanied by the deposit of
a certified check payable to the order of the. Supervisor of the Town
of Southold in the sum of $75. , or a bond with sufficient sur
eties to be approved by the Supervisor in a penal sum of $75. 1
conditioned that if the proposal is accepted the successful
bidder will enter into a contract for the same, and that he
will execute within 15 days from the date of the acceptance of
- the proposal a suitable security bond in the sum of the amount
of the contract, conditioned for the faithful and prompt perfor-
mance and completion of the work specified in the contract.
, All deposits except that of the successful bidder will be
returned.
Upon the acceptance of his bid, if the successful bidder
fails to enter into a contract pursuant to the requirements
of the Board, or fails to give the further security prescribed
in this notice within the time limited therein, then the check
--, deposited as aforesaid and the moneys standing to the credit
of the same, shall be forfeited to the Town as liquidated
damages, or the payment of the bond enforced for the benefit .of
the Town.

Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $2,585.00. ,Lighting
Dist. Bills in the amount of $11150.491 Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills
_ in the amount of $135.90, and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills
in the amount of $11,149.09, be and the same are hereby ordered
paid.

The Bond for Constable William H. Granger was presented to Board
for approval.

y Resolved: That the Town Board approve the Bond 6f William H.
_ Granger for $500. written by the American Motorists Insurance
Co. as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of
surety. -
Unanimously adopted.
