The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Superintendent of High- ways Price; Town Attorney Terry; and Town Clerk Booth, The Board sat at once as a Committee on Audit to examine claims against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2:15 P.M. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and duly approved as A read. I, Ralph P. Booth, Town Clerk of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby appoint Eloise Bowden as Deputy Town Clerk pursuant to the provisions of Section 30 of the Town Law, as amended. his appointment expires on Dec. 319- 191+9. a Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That the Town Board hereby approves the. appointment of till, Eloise Bowden as Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics and Radford y ;. C. Shanklin as' Sub•registrar of .Vital Statistics for Fishers Island, these appointments expire on Dec. 31, 1949. -� Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice .Clark: Resolved: That the Supervisor be authorized to contact the State Highway Dept. and request them to change the broken white line, to a' double solid line, extending from the Southold Library to the Southold Savings Bank on Route 25 in the Village of Southold. Unanimously adopted. _ y Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That parking motor vehicles on the west side of Mechanic Street, in the Village of Southold be prohibited from Route 25, 300 feet south on Mechanic Street, and suitable signs beerected thereon. Unanimously adopted. The Supervisor appointed Justice Terry and Justice Tuthill a high- way committee. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: WHEREAS, an action entitled "GEROGE W. DOUGLASS and GEORGE W. DOUGLASS, JR. , Plgintiffs, against TOWN OF SOUTHOLD and HAROLD PRICE, Individually .� and as Superintendent of Highways of the. Towri of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, Defendants has beenaDmmenced against the above named defendants by the service of a summons and complaint upon them on the ,7th and 16th of July, 19489 j= WHEREAS the encroachment mentioned in the said complaint was removed '" . on the i7th day of July, 191+8, and the trespass therein referred to no longer continues, and ,.Y WHEREAS, by reason of the premises, the plaintiffs.have indicated a willingness to discontinue the action and this Board is of the opinion- that no further proceedings should be -taken-'lbrein, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Town Counsel be authorized and directed to enter into a stipulation of discontinuaiiee----of the above- entitled action in accordance with this Resolution. Moved by Jusitce Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthills Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $2,630.62; Non-reimburs- able Welfare Bills in the amount of $298.21, Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1,140.98, and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $19,313.99, be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. y Moved by Justice Terry; - seconded by Justice .Clark: Resolved: That the report of the Town Police for the month of July and thei schedule of work of the Town Police from Aug. 16th to Sept. 12th 15 be accepted by the' Town Board and placed on file. _ Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark: seconded by Justice Albertson:: 'Resolved: That the Supervisor be authorize& to have a sign made to read "'for use ,of the public" and placed'at the entrance of the,- Town-property, at the head of Sound Ave. , Greenport. Unanimously adopted. "Moved by Justice Teary; seconded by Justice Albertson: . Resolved: That inasmuch as the required dedications have been duly received, map of the same duly filed and the necessary papers .signed, the Town Board take over and maintain as public highways Oakwood Road Birch Road, and Wesland Road, at Southold. Unanimously adopted. . Moved by Justice Terry; seconded .by Justice Albertson:Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor, ,on Tuesday.
