The meeting- was called to order, at 1:3.0 { P.M. by Supervisor Klipp: with the following present: Supervisor. Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Superinten •_f dent of Highways Price and Town Attorney Terry. Mrs. Barbara Cook of 321 Fifth Avenue, Greenport, N.Y. on behalf of herself and Miss Jean Ellen Brown of East Marion met with the Town Board to discuss plans for maintaining a children'-s nusery at" Town Beach, Southold, N.Y. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: ^_ Resolved: That., the Town Council be instructed to draw up, a lease_ - Y between the Town of Southold and Jack. L-evin parties of the first part and Mrs.. Barbara Cook and Miss Jean in Brown, parties- of- - - the second part, in order that they may be permitted to occupy, ., a certain tract of land at Town Beach, Southold, L .I. _ Unanimously- adopted. Mr. Alfred J. Ungerland, Mr. •Walter Luce, Mr. Burnett Tuthili and Mr. -Harry Mason met with the Town Board.'to further discuss pos- sibilities of the Town of Southold purchasing that portion of- land known as Nassau Point Causeway. 11 - - Mr. .Adam Zaveski and Mr. Harry Mason met with the Town Board to dis- cuss that matter of certain under water grants of land in Southold Town. . . _. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by 'Justice Terry`; Resolved:that Whereas, Chapter 699 of the laws of New York, 19479 � as amended, authorizes and empowers the commissioners of.. the Fisher's Island Ferry District, subject .to approval by the Town: Board, to enter into contracts or lease for .the purposes of the ferry, -and ' .w WHEREAS, the said commissioners upon advice of' their council,, have `Y entered into a contract with .Ellsworth S. Wilcox to maste . r the vessel 1.4;7 to be used by said ferry, and WHEREAS ' said contract has been submitted to the New York State _> Department of Civil Service and Audit and Control, and WHEREAS, no objection ' o said contract..has been .entered by said departments, NOW, Therefore, Be It Reso ved, that in view of the .eaigencies of the situation, the Town Board- of the Town of Southold approve the action of the .commission"eis of the -Fishers Island Ferry District y.._ in entering into said contract;. LeGere as stand-by dock agent and purser by the commissioners of- the Fishers Island Ferry, District at the rate of one ,dollar per hour, payable 'in monthly payments, .;be and,hereby is approved. Unanimously adopted. � - Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clarks: Resolved: That the appointment of Elizabeth Wilcox as temporary clerk by the commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District, at the rate .-of seventy-five cents ,per hour, payable in.monthly pay- ments, be and hereby is approved. '�. . At 4:30 P.M. the ,Board sat as a committee on audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 5:30 P.M. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That general bills -in the amount of six thousand five hundred dollars and eighty-seven .cents ($6,500.87) ; public welfare bills in: the amount of $73.88; lighting district bills in the amount - � of $1,13 5. 53; Fishers Island Ferry District bills in the amount of $12'9841.929 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
