Meeting of April 20, 1948
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E
Klipp, at Greenport, on Tuesday, April 20, 1948® The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
K1ipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town buperin-
tendent of Highways, Price; Town Attorney, Terry and Town Clerk,
Booth
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved
as read,

Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill.:
Resolved: That the plans and specifications and estimated ex-
penditures of $3500, for -repairs and alterations and labor on the
_1 Concession Stand at Southold Town Beach' which damage was caused
by storms, be and hereby is approved by the Town Board.
Be It Further Resolved: That proposals for sealed bids be pub-
lished in the Southold Traveler-Mattituck Watchman and The Suffolk
.Times. Bids will be opened at the office of the Supervisor at
Greenport, on 'Tuesday, May 4, 1948, at 1:30 P.M.
Unanimously-' adopted.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
Resolved: That the Park Committee be and hereby is authorized to
purchase rail fence for the inclosure of the property purchased
from the Zimmer Estate on the Sound at Greenport. Necessary labor
and material to clean up and landscape the property and have fire
places, tables and benches built.

Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark:
-, Resolved; that the temporary appointment of Walter Bondarchuk,
as Watchman, be changed to a permanent appointment, and the compen-
sation of said appointee be increased from five per diem to six
dollars per diem, payable in monthly payments, and
Be It Further Resolved: That the change in this position of Watchman
from a temporary appointment to a permanent appointment shall become
effective as of May lst, 1948®

Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to
place an order for two Ford two-door Sedans with the Greenport
Auto Sales, at a price agreeable to the Town Board, said oars to
be used by the Town Police for patrol duty.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Albertson;, seconded by Justice Clark:
Resolved: That the rules and regulations which were drawn up for
the Southold Town Police be approved by the Town Board®

A communication was read from the Mattituck Park Commissioners re-
questing that two street lights be installed in the Mattituck
_ y parking lot in the Mattituck Lighting District.
y Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Co- to install two street lights in the
Mattituck Parking lot. One street light opposite the southeast
corner of land of Cyril Coleman, on the westerly side of the
parking lot, One street light - 125 feet south of Pike Street
on the easterly side of the parking lot, in the Mattituck Lighting
District,
Further Resolved: That in the event the property is disposed-
of by the Park District or lights are no lo::.ger required the Town
Board will` ask for their removal.

Unanimously adopted.
A petition which was presented to the Town Board at the previous
meeting and carried over until this- meeting, requesting eleven ad-
ditional street lights be installed- at Fleets Neck, in the Cutchogue
Lighting District, was discussed. The' Board deemed it advisable
to have these lights installed.
Moved by Justice Tuthill, seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That the Town Clerk be -and hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Co. to Install eleven additional street {`
lights in the Cutchogue Lighting District at Fleets Neck, Cutchogue,
as follows, two street lights on Old Pasture Radd on poles #2 1/2 ,.
and #5® Nine street lights on West Creek Ave, , said lights to be
placed on existing poles Nos, 3-6-9-12-15-26 and 29, and on pro-
posed poles Nos. 18 and 21.

Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That inasmuch as the required dedications have been �-
duly received', map of the samectuly filed and the necessary papers
signed, the Town Board take over and maintain as public highways,
Grove Road, Mill Creek Drive and Meadow Lane, at Southold•.
Unanimously adopted.
A communication was read from the Mattit'bUek Chamber of Commerce � -
complaining about the damaged railing �n the Mill Road Bridge,
parking on several roads near the beat es and unlicensed stray
dogs® These matters were discussed by /the Board and turned over to the proper department for fiction.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: - That the regular mon thly audit meeting of this Board
be -held at the office of the Supervisor, on Tuesday, May 11th,
1948 at 1:30 P.M.
