The Southold Town Board met at 'the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp a.t; Greenport9 on Thursday, _December 89 1949. - The meet- Y ,
ing was- called, to order at .1:30 P.M. with the following present-
Supervisor Klipp'; Justices Terry; , Tuthill; Albertson and Clark; : . .
Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney -Terry- and ,..M
Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine the. �-
claims against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2:30 P.M.
The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and duly' ap-
proved as read. t,
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson:
Resolved: That the annual audit meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Friday, December
30, 1949, at 1:30 P.M. +�

Moved by Justice Albertsoni seconded by Justice Tuthill—
Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to
share in the expense incurred during the stay of the State Freedom
Train in Greenport, which event will take place in the near future.

Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: ~'
Resolved: That General Bills in the amount' of $3,030.16; Lighting
District Bills in the amount of $1,038.86; Non-reimbursable . Wel-
fare Bills in the amount of $28.36 and Fishers. Island Ferry Dis-
trict Bills Account #2 in the amount of $59596..14, be and the
same are hereby ordered paid.

Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved:. That. the probationary appointment of Barney Peter
Harris ,and Henry Brewster Faucon as Police Patrolman (Constables)
of the' Town of Southold, Ve changed to permanant appointments,
and that the compensation of said apointees be increased from six
dollars to dix dollars and fifty cents per day, payable 'in regular
bi-weekly payments effective December 17, 1949.

Resolved: That the Police Report for the month of November
be accepted by the Town :Board and placed on file.

Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:
Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to. "
deduct one days pay from the salary of William H. Granger, Town- `
Constable, as he has taken one day in excess of sick leave as is ` �-
allotted to him in accordance tith Sec. 2 of the rules adopted
by the Town Board governing Southold Town Constables.

Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That the own Board does hereby approve the letter of
agreement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E.S.
Wilcox in the operation of the vessel Col. John Baxter in the
sum of $5,000.00 ' from Nov. 1, 1949 to Nov. 30, 19499 both dates
inclusive.

Whereas , there exists a vacancy in the office of Commissioner of
the Fishers Island Ferry District, caused by the resignation of
Serge J. Doyen, Sr. , and 1-
Whereas, it becomes necessary to appointsome person to fill sue

Resolved: That Joseph Middlebrook, Jr. be and hreby is appointed'
on the recommendation of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island
y Ferry District to the office- of Commissioner of the Fishers Island
v, ferry District to ~hold such office until the next' annual meeting -
for the ,election of- Commissioners of the District, •at which' time -
' �" the vacancy caused by the resignation of Serge J. Doyen, Sr. `
shall be . filled for the remaining unexpired.. term .of Serge.-J..,

Resolved: That the appointment `of Joseph Middlebrook, Jr. ,'
be and hereby . is made retroactive to November 18, 1949.
