The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport, .on Tuesday, July 19, 1949. The meeting was "
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Justices
Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent of High-
ways Price; Town attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The -minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as
read. `
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: ,
Resolved: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be:
held 'at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday, Aug- r�
ust 9,,' 1949, at 1:30 P.M.
Unanimously adopted.
Mrs. Florence Mahoney and Mrs. Cecelia .K&,din appeared before the
Board presenting a petition' signed by several taxpayers of Mat-
tituck, requesting the removal of no parking signs at the foot of +�
Bay Avenue , Mattituck, feeling that they necessitate an unnecessary
hardship and are of no useful purpose and constituting an infring-
ment of the rights and privileges of taxpayers. t -
After a' discussion by the Board the following resolution was -ad-
opted. I
Moved ' by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
esolvedc That the No Parking signs that are at the intersection
of Bay Avenue and Peconic Bay Boulevard, , Mattituck, extending � -
south towards Peconic Bay for a distance of 375 feet be removed
and signs be placed at a distance of 25 feet from the foot of + �
Bay Avenue. Said signs to read, "No parking beyond this 'Point" . �� -
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson:
Resolved: That claims against the Town of Southold, County of
Suffolk, New York, instead of being . verified, may be presented,
Audited and paid if any such claim shall have been certified
pursuant to - Section 103 of the Town Law and Section 285 of -the
Highway Law, to be true and correct in a statement signed by or- on
behalf of a claimant upon a form prescribed by the Town Board of -^1
such Town, which form .shall be as follows:
Thd undersigned (claimant) or acting on behalf of lbgve named '
claimant) does hereby certify that the foregoing claim is true and
correct and that no part has been paid, except as therein stated,
and that the balance therein stated is actually due and owing. � Y
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this resolution shall take effect
immediately.
Unanimously adopted.
At a meeting of the Southold 'Town Trustees held at the Town Clerk' s
office, Southold, on July 18, 1949, the following resolution was
adopted:
Resolved that Section 2 of the' Southold Town Ordinance relating .to
the taking and manner of taking escallops from the Southold Town }r
waters be 'amended to reas as follows: "It shall be unlawful to take
escallops from the Town waters of Southold Town Burin the
from April 1 to September 15 inclusive. " g Period
The Clerk of the Town Trustees was authorized to forward this
resolution to the Town Board for appropriate action.

A public hearing will be held at the office of the Supervisor
at Greenport,. on August 9, 1949, at 2 o ' clock P.M. to consider
the following proposed amendment to Southold Town ordinance
regulating the taking and manner of taking escallops from
. . T.own waters. _
Section 1: Section 2 of Southold Town ordinance regulating the
taking and manner of taking escallops from Town Waters, dated
Jan. 20, 1944, and effective February 8, 1944, is hereby amended
as follows:
It shall be unlawful to take escallops from Town Waters from
April first to September fifteenth in each year both dated
inclusive.
• -- Section 2: Except as herein modified, the aforesaid ordinance
shall remain in full force and effect .
