HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-06/21/1949 MEETING OF JUNE 21, 1949 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport on Tuesday, June 21, 1949. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor . Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill , Albertson and Clark; Town Superinten- dent of Hi#hways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as '+ read. The Board sat as a committee on audit to examine a claim against the Town. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: � + Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $84. 50 be and the same is -hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: rt Resolved: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday,July tr• 51 1949 at 1:30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: � < Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to engage the services of a Life guard to be stationed at the Town Beach for the summer season of 1949. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the schedule submitted by the Town Police Dept . effective July 4, 1949. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson: Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to deduct - one days pay from the salary of James P. Kelly, Town Con. stable, for violation of Sec. 4 of the rules adopted by the Towri:`''? Board governing Southold Town Constables. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice .Terry: Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is authorized to . issue Fireworks permits pursuant to Section 1894A of the Penal Law. Unanimously adopted. . . Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: WHEREAS , Sec. 64 of the Town Law Requires the Town Board to designate by resolution banks of this State in which the Fupervisor or any other officer of the Town shall deposit all monies coming into their hands by virtue of their offices and, ..r WHEREAS, The Town Board may require any bank so designated to deposit withs'uch 'board bonds or- certificates - of the Unites States, of the State " of New York or. any County, Town, City, Village or school district of the State of New York as security for such funds so deposited, such bonds--or" certificates being subject to the approval of the. Town Board and deposited in such place and held under such conditions as the Town , Board may determine, and, WHEREAS, The First National Bank of Greenport , N.Y. , has heretofore been designated as a depositary and, WHEREAS, the said depositary has heretofore entered into an escrow agreement with the Town of Southold providing that the First National Bank of New York- shall hold negotiable U.S. Treasury Bonds in the Amount of $90,000 (and belonging to said depositary) as such security, and, WHEREAS, -the sums of money of the Town of Southold on deposit with said �. depositary, are, at various times during the course of the year, in excess of the collateral security deposited as aforesaid, and, 20 WHEREAS, after due consideration of the matter, it is the opinion of the Town Board that additional security in the amount of $40)000.00 should be re.quired, of said depositary so as to make the` total collateral security furnished by said depositary equal to $1301000.001 NOW1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said First- National Bank of Greenport, N.Y. as such depositary, be and it hereby is- required to furnish to - the Town of, Southold additional security in the amount of $40 000.00, so that its total collateral security will amount to $1301060906 .
