HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-06/07/1949 207 Meeting of June 7, 1949 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport , -on Tuesday, June 7, 1949. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; �.Y Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk. Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee .on audit to examine claims against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2:15 P.M. The minutes of the previous meeting were rea d and duly approved > as read. Moved by Just.ice ..Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: f Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor, at Greenport, eift Tuesday, June 21, 1949, at 1:30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. � a George F. Grathwohl appeared before the Board petitioning the Board * to take over and work as a public -highway a proposed road at New Suffolk. The Board agreed to do so as soon as the necessary papers are executed. ,. a Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $1,705.05; Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1,146.32; Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills in the amount of $154.07; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills, Account No. 2 in the amount of $10,200. 24 and Town Trustees Bills in the amount of $5.00 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. " Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill;: Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby 'is authorized to purchase a Life Bbat ,to be used at the Southold Town Beach. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry:° Resolved: That the Long Island Lighting Company be and is hereby .}.i authorized to remove a street light in the Mattituck Lighting District #1 , at the intersection of Sound Ave. and the Main Road. Unanimously adopted. r� Moved by Justice Tuthill; . seconded by Justice Albertson: Resolved: That the Police Report for the month of May be accepted by the Board and placed on file. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That Barney Peter Harris and Henry Brewster Faucon be and_ herebyare appointed Police Patrolman (Constables) of the Town of �• Southold for a probationary period of six (6) months following the date that the appointment becomes effective, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED; That Barney Peter Harris and Henry Brewster Faucon will serve in the capacity of Police, Patrolman (Constables) of the Town of Southold at the pleasure of ,the Town Board, and BE IT FURMR RESOLVED: That the compensation during probationary � period be fixed at six dollars per day, payable in regular bi-weekly payments, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED : That this probationary appointment take effect on June 18, 1949. .
