Meeting of June 6, 1950
The -Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, June 6 , 1950. The meeting was called
to order at 1:.30 P.M. with the following present : Supervisor Klipp;
Justices Terry, Tuthill and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways-
Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat- at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
against the Town concluding the audit work at 2;20 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and du*yapproved as reeld.
.Trustees of the Peconic School District: appeared before the Board
requesting protection at the Peconic school crossing. The Supervisor

assured them- they would provide a special constable to direct traffic
, at the Peconic School crossing by Zanuary 1,, 1951, as the current budget
does not provide funds for such a purpose at this time, v.}�
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the
office of the Supervisor at Greenport on Tuesday, June 20, 1950, at
1:30 P.M.

A communication was read from the Cutehogue Fire Department requesting ~ '
permission to install a pressure hydrant in place of the existing *_
hydrant located on Alvahs Lane.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: ..._
Resolved: That insofar as the Town of Southold has authority to do,
permission be granted the Cutchogue Fire Department to install a pressure
hydrant in place of the existing hydrant located on Alva.hs Lane,Cut-
chogue, opposite the property of Stanley Simchick,, providing the
Town of Southold be indemnified and saved harmless from any and all claims i
arising out of or by reason of the same and that the Town be furnished with -.
an insurance policy of indemnification. ,

Resolved: That Barney P. Harris and Henry B. Faucon; Constables of the
Town of Southold be given an increase in salary from seven dollars ?fa L
seven dollars and fifty cents per diem and that Walter Bondarehuk,
Watchman at the Police Department, be given an increase .in salary
. from six dollars and fifty cents to seven dollars per diem, all three ,--
increases effective June 17 , 1950.

Resolved: That Chief of Police, Otto L. Anrig be authorized to at-
tend the New York State Chief 'of Police Convention to be held, at 1
Rochester, N.Y. on July 24, 25 and 26, 1950.

Resolved :, That the Police Report for the month of May be accepted
by the Board and placed on file. r .

Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter of
agreement between the �'ishers Island Ferry District and E.S. Wilcox
in the operation of the vessel Col. John E. .Baxter in the sum of
$99006.88, from May I to May 31, 1950, both dates inclusive. ,

Resolved: That inasmuch as the required dedications have been
duly received, map of same duly filed and the necessary papers

Whereas, Chapter 734 of the. Laws of New York, 1950, amended Section
86 a of the Civil Service Law to provide an alternative plan for
optional retirement at age 55, and
Whereas, said amendment provides that additional contributions
shall be made by employees obligated. -1-os

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved: That the Town Board of the Town of
5outholdauthorize`and it does hereby authorize _the payment of such
additional contributions as may- from time to time be required by
