HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-05/09/1950 A S Meeting .of May 99 1950 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. . Klipp at Greenport on Tuesday, May 91 1950. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and 'Clark; Town Superin- tendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to, examine claims against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2:15 P.M. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting, of this. Board will be held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday, May 23, 1950, at 1:30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. A. Halsey Brown and Raymond .W. Terry appeared before the Board re- presentinj the Town B:bard of Assessors requesting the' Town Board to give them full support in case of certiorari proceedings brought . before the Board of Assessors for review of tax assessments. The "- Board agreed to defend any such case. -The minutes of the previous were read and duly approved as read. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized .to purchase =- one table and two swivel chairs for use in the Supervisor''s- Office. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Terry;Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson: ' Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is instructed to inform.. the Long Island Lighting Company that Osseo Road at Laughing Waters , ; Southold, X.Y. will be resurveyed, redescribed and recorded in the Town Clerk's office as a highway by use in accordance with Section 140 of the Highway Law., Unanimously adopted. � Moved by' Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson: Resolved: That the Police Report for the, month of April be accepted . by the Town Roard and placed on file. Unanimously adopted. Y_ Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That General Bills in the sum of $1421.72; Lighting Dist- trict Bills in the sum of $1173.01,; Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills ' in the sum of $23.81; and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills, Account #2, _in the sum of $6512. 51 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. - Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by' Justice Albertson:, Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve' the letter 'of agrdement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E.S.Wilcox in the operation of the vessel Col John E. •Baxter , and TP-52 in the sum of $5700.00 from April 1 to April 30, 1950, both dates inclusive. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to pur , y chase a galvanized wire fence to be eredted to protect Town property.
