HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-04/11/1950 26 Meeting of April 11, 1950 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport on Tuesday, April 11, 1950. The meeting was called to order' at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: .. Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Superinten- dent of Highways , Price;Town Attorney Terry and' Town Clerk Booth. The Board "sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims against the Town, concluding- the audit work at 2 P.M. y The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read.. • Moved by Justice Clark;' seconded by Justice Tuthill: ` Whereas, it is the intention of the Town Board of the Town of Southold to- establish a Recreation Project and Whereas, the Town of Southold is about to submit an application for r- such a project �to the New York State 'Youth Commission for tis .ap- proval, and if approved, to apply subsequently to the Commission-' for A ` York for partial reimbursement of- funds expended on said project,. as provided by Chapter -556 of the Laws of 1945, as amended: Now, Therefore be it . Resolved, that such application is in all respects approved and Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, is hereby directed and authorized to duly execute and to present said application to the New York State Youth Commission for its approval. , This resolution shall take effect �a immediately. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry Resolved:: That purusant to Chapter 535 of the Laws of 1945 amended 'by Chapter 436 of the Laws of 1946, the Superintendent of Rublic Works of the State of New York be and hereby is requested to. make sur- veys- and prepare plans and estimates of cost for the construction of a. jetty near Goldsmith . Inlet, Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and be ti further. Resolved: That it' is the intention ,of the Town of Southold to participate -in the cost of such construction to the extent of 25% of the total cost., Unanimously adopted. . Tuthill: Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the map-.-,of "Greenport Homes" at Greenport, Town of Southold, N.Y. , owned and , developed by the United..States of America for sub-division purposes. Unanimously adopted. �., Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That the Police Report for the month of March be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Unanimously adopted. The Bonds of Barney P. Harris and Henry B. Faucon were presented . to the Board for approval. r' Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:: _ Resolved: That Bond Nb SM-1759642 issued by the American Motorists Insurance Company in the sum of $500. in behalf of Barney P. Harris', y and Bond No. SM-175,641 issued by the American Motorists Insurance •°- s- 265 company in the sum of $500. on behalf of Henry B. Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter of �J agreement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E.S. Wilcox in :the operation of the Col. John E. Baxter and T.P.-52 in the sum of $1+;200. from March 1, to March 31, 1950, both dates inclusive. . Unanimously adopted. 7 Moved by Justice Clark; - seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That General Bills in the sum of $39467.05; Lighting District Bills in the sum of $19174.67; Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills in the sum of $318.92 and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills , Account #2 in the sum of $5,077.39 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
